Very impressed. Literally felt like my moms kitchen. Food was great and the price was fair. As for the Waiter, Mick. he said sit where we want. My girlfriend, her son and I. The boy asked for milk. Didnt say please. Mick started to walk away, came back, said "what would you like?" Again. Boy replies milk. Mick says milk what. And the boy is stunned. So is mom. Then the boy says "please?" Mick- "thank you, yes milk." Immediately i said i like this guy. Manners. He was firm about it too. Like my mom would treat manners at the dinner table. Upon bringing milk the boy did not say anything. Mick stood at the table quietly with his hand against his ear, to better hear and waited for a thank you and when the boy figured it out he said your welco e and went back to his business. Awesome. A couple came in. Mick says sit in one of the 3 tables in the middle of the room. No rhyme or reason. They asked for a wall table and he says please, sit. And points to the 3 middle tables. The couple seemed appalled and walked out. Mick went back to his business and started laughing with glee. When my mom says sit on the left, you sit on the left. Mick is a middle aged man, and not my mother, but i felt that vibe. I cannot believe i have lived a block away for years and never ate there. Better have your manners in check. Respect is met with respect. Highly recommended...
Read moreThis was kind of a difficult place to rate. A person could easily give this place 5 stars or even 3 stars. It all depends on perspective or personal taste.
I tend to have a big breakfast, so keep that in mind. This place does have lots of choices for breakfast, so that is always appreciated. I ended up getting the Sierra Scramble with a pancake on the side. The Scramble was a little unconventional, but that didn't detract from the taste. Full disclosure, I was asked how I want my eggs, which isn't something I ever had a choice on a "scramble". Anyway, I blurted out over-easy as that is always how I have my eggs normally.
As you will see from the pics, the scramble only has 2 eggs, normally there are 3, and the pancake is pretty small. Portions aside, the food was good and the service was great! I did walk out of there full, so maybe I shouldn't complain. But I'm not really complaining as much as I'm just noting.
I did like it well enough that I will return. Oh, I should mention that prices were great, so there is that going for it too. I feel I should comment on the service again, I was seated right away and had attentive quick service throughout. With so many restaurants struggling with staffing lately, getting good service really stands...
Read moreWe've seen this place in passing and wanted to try it. We walked in, and the special board said chorizo scramble, but they didn't have that, they had chicken apple sausage. The board also said prices on the menu are not correct, the prices were higher. The waiter tells us the card machine didn't work that it's only cash or Venmo and they didn't have Eggs Benedict. The waiter took some of our parties' orders and then told my wife to hold on as he went to the kitchen. Then he proceeded to go behind the counter, and then cleaned a few tables before coming back to take my wife's order. Then he walked away without asking about my order for about 5 minutes. We were ready to leave at that point but decided to stay. The food was fine but the restaurant seemed more like a storage room with boxes and supplies all over. The restaurant doesn't have to be fancy, but it doesn't seem like anyone cares. Whether that's changing the menu prices, changing the special board details, boxes everywhere, or the ripped...
