Well... I'm done with this place. I literally live within walking distance and will go to home depot instead. They are just rude here. Walk in 15 minutes before they close and the employee says, "what are you looking for, we close in 15 minutes." Last time. Won't go here again. It's terrible like most local businesses in Auburn. Sad really, I try to buy local but the service and hours are beyond horrible.
Old review: First, the hours here are pretty terrible. Who expects to cater to typical working people but only stay open to 6 pm? You're a retail store, you need to be open later on weekdays... but this is pretty typical of any small store in Auburn.
So... I went here a couple weeks ago as its close to my house and all I needed was some sealant. Found my sealant which I expected to be more expensive than Home Depot... It was... then went to check out... The lady at the counter was chatting with other employees... barely said two words to me... handed me my receipt without even looking at me... I said thank you... didn't even acknowledge anything, no your welcome, or even a glance... When this store was TruValue I barely went because of the high prices. But when you don't even get typical customer service, why am I...
Read moreI frequent many Ace stores multiple times a week and do everything I can to avoid the "big" stores. This location is the closest to home. I was honestly super excited with the recent move and larger selection/expansion. I've been able to avoid H.D. in Auburn quite a bit more the last few months. The hardware selection is GREAT here (That's where you earned the extra star). I've waited for the dust to settle with the move before leaving an honest realistic review about the staff, and unfortunately what I've seen and experienced has only become more of the "norm" and gotten worse to the point I walked out today empty handed and made my large tool purchase at H.D. Most of the "CUSTOMER SERVICE " employees at this location I've encountered are less than pleasant, and SO put out to assist you. Your employees/employee training program needs some serious help. You are NOT representing the small town, helpful, place that Ace has always been. You are just becoming another HD / Lowes at this point with...
Read moreBuyer beware! I'm pretty sure that in-store purchases turn out just fine. But if you order from the internet could be a different situation. Part of it is probably my mistake for not reading all the fine print but I'm used to dealing with chain stores and not locally owned. The first time it happened to me was when I ordered some salt for my swimming pool and pre-bought it online. When I went to the store to pick it up I did not realize that I needed my driver's license to pick it up I had my order number and a printout of the order confirmation but they wouldn't let me have it without my driver's license. The second time was when I bought a part for my RV from one location and found out you could not return it to any Ace Hardware you had to take it back to the store that you bought it in this case it was a couple hours round trip for a 10-dollar Part. I tossed it in their trash and told them to have a nice day it wasn't worth my time in trouble to go to another town just...
