Wander Pizza is awesome. The pizza, apps and sandwiches are all fantastic. The hand made crust is fully developed, flavorful and consistent. The variety of pizza toppings and other ingredients is impressive, but what really takes it the over top is their freshness and quality. Fresh toppings(no canned jalapenos!) local meats when possible, and a variety of traditional and funky cheeses. There is a great selection of small-time regional sodas, the big name sodas, seltzers, and a widerange of great beer on tap, local and otherwise. There's a nice variety of slices available throughout the day, and the best happy hour in central Maine. On any given day, there's no telling what surprise toppings you might find on a pizza special. To top all that, the staff is friendly, fun and efficient. Jesse, the owner, is ALWAYS there, busting his tail putting a lot of care into every bit of food that leaves the kitchen. Augusta used to be a pizza wasteland. Now, with the arrival of Wander, we have one of the best pizzas places in the state. It's very family friendly and also super easy to access right off of 95. This is a legit review that I've been meaning to write for a while. We've eaten there probably 30 times since it opened. It's been great every time, and now Jessie and his staff feel like friends that just happen to serve killer...

Detroit Style Pizza: The pizza was absolutely amazing -- something so good about it! Everything about it was spot-on—from the perfectly balanced combination of fresh veggies to the delicious toppings and perfectly crisp yet soft crust. Every bite felt like it was crafted with care and attention. It’s easily one of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time.
Service: We arrived close to closing time, yet the staff was incredibly accommodating and welcoming. As vegetarians, we truly appreciated their willingness to help customize options and ensure we had a fantastic experience. Their attentiveness and kindness truly added to the positive vibe.
Ambience: The ambience was decent—it had a casual, fast-food feel to it, but honestly, it didn’t detract from the experience. It’s not a fine-dining atmosphere, but it’s cozy and functional for a great pizza outing.
Price: While it did feel slightly overpriced, I can confidently say the pizza was totally worth it. The flavor, quality, and overall experience make it a worthwhile indulgence.
If you’re a pizza lover, Wander Pizza is definitely worth a visit—you...
Read moreOh my gosh! When friends took us for pizza and we pulled into this little shop, I was a bit torn... What are their options? Is this going to be just OK, or great pizza? What else do they serve, or is this just a pizza shop?
The delicious aroma that met us when we walked in was unbelievableand I immediately knew we made a great choice wandering in!
I ordered a large margherita pizza for the 2 of us. Our friends ordered some by-the-slice options and a large pie, as well.
We were served within a reasonable time and I couldn't believe the flavors. The sauce was great, and the crust was utterly delicious. You know how some pizza crust is, right? Just cardboard tasting and a platform for the tasty stuff. Not this crust! It totally added another level of flavor to the experience.
We took a couple pieces home, which I heated in the air fryer for lunch the next day.
They also have starters, sandwiches, and salads. If you like hand-tossed thin crust pizza or Detroit-style pan pizza, or other delicious delights, wander in, or order online. I am looking forward to...
