Bruno's Cheesesteaks — Restaurant in Aurora Township

The reviews made us excited to try this place. We ordered the Angus burger meal, chicken tenders meal, a cheesesteak sandwich, all with fries, and a drink. Bad news first. The fries were soggy and limp at best. Some of us received undercooked fries that seemed very much as if they opened a bag of frozen fries and nuked them for 2 minutes. The burger texture and the taste were way off from what I know Angus to taste like. It was soggy, mushy, gray, and microwaved. It was so off-putting that it went into the garbage on the first bite, and at over $70 for the food, I had zero guilt for putting it there. I went home to have a cold bowl of cereal. The sauce on the burger was watery and not flavorful. It was pretty much French dressing with water. Even the color was like French dressing. The lettuce was crispy, and that was the only positive note for that experience. The chicken tenders had the exact opposite problem. Those bad boys were overcooked to an absolute hockey puck and so thin I think it was more breading than chicken. Completely inedible. You could bend them from end to end, and they were holding strong.

The good news. The ice cream that comes with the kids' meal was very vanilla and was actually decent. The cheesesteak sandwich is BY FAR the best thing on the menu and the only reason I would ever visit again.

I'm not trying to be mean with this review, but I have to be honest because I feel as though we were tricked into coming to this place because of all the overwhelmingly positive reviews. It was a waste of hard-to-come- by money...

Very clean! My review is only based on the Chicago style hot dog and fries with a drink. First and foremost my main complaint is they do not offer a 2 dog special with fries and a drink. I did however order the hot dog special with fries and added a drink to my order. My second issue was with the cost. I believe it was too much for so little. I'm aware that cheesesteaks is in the name, but hear me out; if you can't do a dog right - there's no way the cheesesteak will rock the socks.

Chicago Dog: Bun was good, Hot dog slightly overdone but still edible Relish was fantastic Onions were fresh and diced Pickle was crisp and delicious 2 tomato slices were a good width and fresh 2 sport peppers were average And topped with the right amount of celery salt. Overall 7.6 out of 10.

Fries with dog special: First thing I noticed was the size of the order; seemed like a kids size. The fries themselves tasted good. Edge of almost crispy exterior with a soft interior. Did not have an over powering flavor of oil but were slightly greasy. Overall taking size of the table and going just on taste - 8 out of 10.

Coke products from a clean dispenser was good. Price was high but did offer free refills.

I believe that I will return to try more. Overall it was a positive dining experience with tasty but not perfect food. I will try not only their dessert but also the cheesesteak. Oh my goodness, let me tell you about my experience at Bruno's Cheesesteaks - I am still absolutely blown away! Yesterday was my first time trying it and I have to say, everything was beyond delicious.

We ordered the Bruno's Original Cheesesteak, the South Philly Cheesesteak, Mozzarella sticks, two large orders of their incredible French fries, and a Chicago hot dog. I can't even put into words how amazing everything tasted. The cheesesteaks were seasoned perfectly and the steak was so fresh and juicy. And those French fries! They're seriously the best fries I've ever had - crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside, and hand-cut fresh.

The person who helped us was so friendly, kind, and efficient. He got our order exactly right and we only had to wait about 10 minutes for our hot, fresh food to come out.

I can't believe I've been driving past Bruno's for three years without trying it. It's truly a hidden gem in North Aurora and I highly recommend that you give it a try - you won't be disappointed, I promise you that.
