Went through drive thru. I ordered 2 dinners for me and my husband. I wanted to also order boneless chicken nuggets or some type of chicken without bones, for my 2 chihuahuas. Girl taking order would not assist me on this order and was extremely rude. She said I could order 4 chicken nuggets (no sides) for $5.99, which was more than my full dinner. She said there was nothing cheaper. After not being able to get any help, I didn't order anything. When I drove around to the window, the girl and a man were standing together. When I stopped, both started looking at me, started talking back and forth and laughing hystericallly. The man finally walked off a short ways and then the girl opened the window without a smile on her face. I was certain they were laughing because I was trying to order something for my little dogs. I asked her about thinking it was so funny. She got an attitude and started raising her voice. The man caming running over and started yelling...trying to tell me that she was smiling at the customers....and if I didn't like it that's too bad. I told the man to not yell at me. I asked for the Managers name and he said he is the Manager. He said his name is Abel. I asked for his Regional Managers name and phone number and he told me...you can call 800 Popeye's. I asked him for the store number and he said if I wanted it, I could find it myself. The Manager acted more like a gang member than a Manager. The girl definitely was a gang member with markings and 2 other shaved head men in the store had gang markings. (Being in Chicago, you see a lot of gang members both former and current. I have had service from many that were very nice.) These people acted like the epitomy of the hostile gang member that you might see on TV. Back to my experience...After the man walked away, and he went down to talk to the 3 other male workers. They all kept laughing and looking at me in my car and went on for quite a while. I was sitting there at the drive thru and the girl finally asked me if I still wanted my order. I said that I did. She took credit card and I paid. As I was waiting for my food, another car pulled up behind me. The girl came to the window and told me that I was going to have to pull up and wait. After the behavior of the Manager, I was not about to let anyone working on my food out of my sight. In addition to that, there is no where to pull up...I had been here before and had to pull up, but it blocks the drive thru. (Once they move through the car behind you, you have to pull out and come back in or pull up then back up and then come back in). I told the girl that I was going to wait for my food there. She kept arguing with me and demanded 4 times that I pull up. I finally told her that I was not moving and if it was going to be a problem, we could get the police out there. She ran and told her Manager, the next thing I knew my food was out within the next minute. I noticed that I didn't have a receipt. I wanted proof that I had been there with the time to report this incident to the Popeye's Corporate Office in Atlanta. Plus, the store information that the Manager refused would be on the receipt. I asked for my receipt. This girl started arguing with me that I had been given a receipt. I finally got tired of her arguing and asked her to have a copy printed. The Manager came over and printed a copy and I was finally on my way. It will be the last time that I ever visited that location, unless there is a change in staff, management, and attitude. By the way, the food wasn't even worth any of...
ย ย ย Read moreThis is my first time leaving a review and I should probably wait til I'm not so emotional. But I'm not going to. If I could give 0 stars I would. Today, 4/13/19 was my sister's memorial service. We lost her 3/27/19. About a week ago I ordered 3 catering sides of mashed potatoes and gravy and 90 biscuits to be picked up 4/13/19 at 11:15 a.m. The girl who answered the phone connected me to the manager to take the order. My son went to pick up the order to bring to the church for the meal that was to immediately follow the service. There was no order. My son didn't know what it was I had ordered and I had my phone down because I was in the church so he couldn't reach me. I called to complain and express my extreme anger and disbelief. The manager who had taken the order acted like he knew nothing about the order. He offered me a "discount" on my order and said he can have someone drop it off. When I told him we are in Yorkville he had a change of heart. He asked can someone pick up the order? I said no, we are at a service that has already started and I'm in the basement trying to figure out what to serve with the chicken when the guests come downstairs. I should have been upstairs by my Mom's side for my sister's service. I asked who above the manager can I speak to? There is nothing this Popeye's location can do. The manager at the North Aurora location caused a HUGE amount of emotional and mental stress in a situation where hearts were already broken and emotions raw. He could at least have offered condolences and had the order delivered regardless of the location. I doubt very much the manager at Popeye's in North Aurora cares in the least the extra tears his carelessness and disregard of the highly sensitive situation caused me. I doubt he cares about the tremendous amount of stress his actions and lack of actions caused me or my son, his wife and kids who went to pick the order up. In fact I do believe he won't give it a second thought or lose any sleep over what he did and the negative impact it had on what was to be a beautiful and final gift to my precious sister who left us. I doubt the higher ups of Popeye's care and doubt they will contact me. My sister's service is over. I will never again have the chance to redo the beautiful tribute to my sister minus the horrible chain of events the ignorance of this "manager" caused. What is done is done. There is no rewind. It's partially my fault because when I lost my Dad last May 2018 the same thing happened when I ordered sides from Popeye's in North Aurora. Only then my son was able to reach me and place the order again. He however was late for his own Grandpa's service as he was for his Aunt's service today. When I had placed the order for my sister's service I told him of my bad experience with my order for my Dad's service and that I was worried it would happen again. The manager assured me it would not. So "manager" of Popeye's in North Aurora, do you remember taking my order now?? How many orders do you get for sides only for 3 catering size potatoes and gravy and biscuits? I doubt the rantings of a broken hearted sister will do anything to help others or change anything at Popeye's. But it's out there so think good and hard before ordering from this location if for an extremely important event. I don't know who took my order last May for my Dad's service. But sometimes 2nd chances are not such a good idea as was the case in my ordering from these guys again after they...
ย ย ย Read moreThe employees were very rude, attempted to say they didn't speak English while proceeding to speak fluent English to a Spanish speaking gentlemen that ordered immediately after I came in to pick up my mobile app and there were noticeable flies in and near the chicken. I ordered a 3 piece and selected custom pieces. The app doesn't allow selections to be made so I literally drove to the location and ordered before stepping into the restaurant. The employee who waved me off before I could specify the pieces gave my order to another employee but after she had already put whatever she wanted into the box. When I asked the next employee about the selection she cut me off and said they cannot do that. I showed the app and the custom selection and once again was cut off then told only this once. My order included a frozen lemonade. Apparently the machine wasn't finished making the frozen slurry but the first employee still poured syrup, the part slush, part liquid mixture over ice and served it to me. Thinking she gave me the chilled lemonade, I pointed out that my order was for the frozen version. Somehow she was able to understand me and reply fluently that she did not have any frozen lemonade. Once again, I thought she what I was given was the chilled version but quickly realized it wasn't when I took and sip of nothing but mango flavored syrup. I took the lip off to realize what happened. I don't know the reason for the extreme rudeness and poor food quality. Though I shouldn't need to include that my demeanor, tone and so forth were all respectful I still received poor customer service with unnecessary rudeness.
On to the food. I ordered two legs and a beast. Magically they found legs the size of drumsticks and the driest chicken breast in the restaurant and...
