Victoria's Market — Restaurant in Aurora

I decided to try this place because I love Chicharron burritos and am on the hunt to find the perfect one, because of the positive reviews, and because it is close to my house.

When I got there, the parking lot was a muddy mess, and the establishment is kind of cluttered but it was okay and it reminded me of some of the local places we go to when we're on vacation in Mexico and Belize.

I went ahead and tried to order in English even though I speak some Spanish and even though their English is really broken, we managed okay.

The first problem was that I went there specifically for a Chicharron burrito and they were out of Chicharrones at 11:30 a.m. What??

I ended up ordering a Chili Relleno burrito and a chicken sope. You could taste the old grease taste in the batter on the Chili Relleno that was inside the burrito and I kept trying to figure out how the chicken was prepared on the sope because it was just kind of weird. It also tasted like they put extra Knorr Chicken Bouillon seasoning on it.

The staff was not welcoming or friendly to me, but when the big group of Spanish-Speaking guys came in right after me, they were super friendly to them. They seemed to be bothered that there was a blonde, blue-eyed, white lady in their establishment.

Walking into the establishment takes you back to the days you visited the small town mercados in Mexico. If you know, you know. A vast array of products imported from Mexico. Spices, Candy, Pottery and a great food and desert selection. The butcher shop sells fresh meat cuts to include seasoned options. The delicacies of hard to find items you will see here! The eatery serves authentic recipe items prepared with homemade goodness. Speaking or understanding spanish is not mandatory. They are welcoming and helpful so don't hesitate stop by...I guarantee your craving exist in this...

Food is good. Unfortunately, the employees have no problem charging you for food they will refuse to give you. I brought it to the cashiers and managers attention, made sure they understood the missing food in their own language, and was simply shooed away. I had hoped to return, but have no interest in supporting dishonest business that enjoys blatantly stealing from customers. Prices are reasonable, IF you get all you paid for. I'd recommend nearly any of the other hole in the wall, local businesses that deal...
