I booked their food truck for a private community event that was scheduled for 7/17/21. The event was 2 PM-6 PM, so I asked which window of time worked best for them. They confirmed 2 PM-4 PM. We are always looking to support and promote black businesses, and we were really looking forward to having them at our event. We didn't book any other trucks for the event, because we didn't want to create any competition. We promoted their truck on our Facebook page, our email distributions, and on our event flyer. We wanted to drum up all the business we could to help support their business. They confirmed they'd arrive at 1 PM to set up and be ready for our 2 PM start time. They hadn't arrived by 1:30 PM, so I gave them a call. No answer. I sent a text at 1:38 PM telling them I could send a pin for our location since it's a new subdivision and maps can sometimes direct you elsewhere. I didn't get a callback. Instead, I got a text reply at 1:59 PM stating they'd gotten a call from a guest at our event (They spoke with this guest, mind you, not the individual that booked them.) They said they were having issues with their truck, were working with a mechanic, and were still on their way. At 2:51 PM, nearly an hour later, I called again. Again, no answer. At 2:59 PM, I sent a text informing them that I had to resort to Plan B. For starters, I would think that if we have an event scheduled and you're unable to arrive on time, you would call and inform me of this without me having to reach out first. I never got a call from them. I never received a text in response. Just nothing. Extremely unprofessional and disappointing! It was brought to my attention that their Instagram page states they had an event from 10 AM to 1:30 PM, so with clean up and break down, there was no way they would've ever made it to our event on time. It's not my job to question whether or not the mechanical breakdown explanation provided was legitimate or not. I can just say the way this was handled was tacky and left a terrible taste in my mouth. They showed no respect for or consideration of my time or my event. I would've accepted a callback or even a genuine apology by text since they couldn't be bothered to communicate by phone (at least not with me). I got neither. My guests were disappointed. I was disappointed. It's just so unfortunate and could and SHOULD have been handled so...
Read moreThe swain sandwich on point. Front counter set up was a disaster. The cashier definitely was not equipped with proper understanding of customer service. Speed. Accuracy. Definitely not friendly. This was Saturday. The kiosk set up was not my thing definitely wasn't wiped down. My fries were cold. For that amount of money. She didn't have any condiments. My extra sauces that I paid for had to be ask for. I was disappointed we couldn't sit. The waiting area for food was weird. But fish sandwich was nice. I read some the owners responses. The tone comes across dismissive and smart. You are definitely in a great location! And seem to have good food. Your cook was very nice. They seemed clean. I could see him using gloves. But the system for food ordering and the lobby set up with the Young girl trying to do too much at once was weird. Thank God I was first in line. I saw people constantly coming back for different mistakes while I was waiting on my friend to get her order. The online people should possibly have someone there to handle online orders. So that the other person can concentrate on the people who are walking up. I do know running a business is trying. Maybe train that front line young lady and add someone extra on busy days? She was not the move. And she didn't wanna be there, too... I find that People rely heavily on a younger generation to run their place of business. They're usually only good once the owners stay around and push for lots of hands on training. That front definitely needs two people. Those kiosk were not coming across affective. And they hand prints from being dirty. Powder Springs, Austell, and Mableton is a very nice small knit area. It's crazy how people come out because there's nothing else around here. The food menu for every joint is great. I just wish cleanliness . definitely Friendliness would be a thing. Have the owners in the area thought about meeting and seeing how to keep the area jumping with...
Read moreWe’ve been wanting to try this place for years now since they opened during the pandemic and was very disappointed. We watched TikTok videos of food reviews, read online reviews, and more but didn’t get the food quality or experience everyone mentioned.
I’ll start with the bathroom. It was gross and there was no soap to wash your hands. The trash can was rusted over and I refused to touch it. The bathroom needs a whole refresh.
As for the food, the fries were good along with the strawberry lemonade but the rest of the food not so much for my personal order. The peach cobbler waffle was extra soft and more like “wet”. The cobbler consisted of a lot of pieces of peach cobbler way more than they advertised in the picture which likely made my waffle wet. I should have gotten the red velvet waffle. It wouldn’t have been soggy.
I ordered their NEW lemon pepper wet wings and thought I was getting the traditional Atlanta LPW wings but nope it was not. The wings were lemon glazed (too much lemon) and the chicken breading was soft and there was zero crunch. Definitely my fault for expecting something different. I took the other two wings and air fried them at home hard since I was still hungry after just eating fries and the waffle. The air fried wings were edible but still too much lemon. I should have gotten the wings with no sauce.
We also got the kids tenders with no sauce and fries and everything was perfect!!!
I think the food is best without the sauces and just keeping it traditional chicken and waffle.
The flow of traffic was very steady along with takeout orders. We were the only ones that dined in.
I may give them another shot but don’t see that high on my list cause the bathroom and restaurant odor will...
