Long wait ( as expected/ Cinco Di Mayo)
Fortunately, two seats at the bar opened up . My guest and I ordered two Margaritas and closed that tab using a Chuys Gift Card I had been given We sat there for about a half hour and decided to not wait for a table from the wait list rather to order some food at the bar . We were completing our evening and ask for our check It seemed more than expected . I was correct, the bar tender had charged me for the first two margaritas on this tab as well. I brought it to his attention and he said he would have to get the manager . I was very confused and ask why he needed the manager , he was our original server who closed out the first tab ( showed him the receipt) and he was the server who took our food order . All he needed to do was remove two margaritas from the second Check. He explained he could not do that After 20 minutes of no manager , I went on a scouting expedition and located the manager myself and re explained what had occurred. He went and got our server and began to try and correct the tab. After 10 minutes , the manager came over and explained he couldn’t get the system to refund the difference so because of all the confusion . , our evening was on Chuys and the funds would be refunded to the respective cards in 2-3 days. I though that was very considerate and thanked him
The next morning , the difference on my bill that I charged to my personal bank card was already refunded back to the card So. I thought I would check the balance on the Chuys Gift Card This process is very not customer convenient
There is not a phone number to call and Check. You enter your information in a website and they will respond to your request I waited , it is now Wednesday , 5 days later . No response , I sent a follow up email , got a response , “ Management is still looking into your request for the balance on your gift card .
In the bottom of their email , a phone is listed should you need for thee assistance . I phoned the number. It is a third party number ; they could not do anything but quote the Chuys email
I thank the third party and hung up , extremely frustrated
I remembered , in the Chuys website it stated you could also contact a manager at any Chuys and obtain the balance on your gift card. I phoned the Chuys I visited on McKinney Ave , I ask for the manager , the associate was very polite , ask to place me on a brief hold , it was actually a brief hold , the manager answered , I explained the entire scenario to him . The manager said , I am new , this is my first night , I do not have that ability to check ……
I am Not believing this …….

Read moreI've been going to Chuy's since the 80's. I've been a loyal customer all that time, buying T-shirts, enjoying the margaritas etc. But recently some things have changed and I think it's time to move on to greener pastures. The table sauce (the original salsa that was brought to the table, which had carrots in it) had been discontinued about the time covid started. I always enjoyed it and my son was a monster for it. When he got his first job he would go to Chuy's and buy two large containers of it. Well, I just called Chuy's corporate to see when they would lose the limited covid menu and she said there was no plan to bring the table sauce. She said it had to do with limited sales. As far as I know, not many people go to a restaurant and buy salsa and when they made the pico salsa the one brought to the table you suddenly had to ask for the table sauce. How in the world could the table sauce, survive when it's like a house secret? My son is devastated. He has been calling our local Chuy's every couple of weeks and I just told him there is no plan to bring it back. He said he will not come back. I also asked corporate about the Happy Hour and whether the cars would be brought back at some point and she said "the car's are pretty much gone". The cars were one of the neatest things i have seen in a restaurant in my life. Losing those is a major hit to Chuy's. Well, outside of a pretty good margarita, that's two of the main things that brought us to Chuy's for decades and they're gone. So, until I hear different, this is one family that probably not coming back. Whoever is making your decisions isn't really making it easy to...
Read moreOh my goodness!!! What can I say? I was tired from shopping. By myself. Couldn't decide where to eat. Pulled into Chuy's.... and the rest is savory heavenly history!! The tacos were good with the extra beans... but I must admit I really just went in for that CREAMY JALAPENO SAUCE!!! But I am taking the time to write more about my waiter than anything else. Here in Clarksville, Indiana...His name is AUSTIN. His service was THE BEST service I have had in years!!! He anticipated every need.. didn't have to ask for refills.. anything. He was personable, funny and HE JUST MADE MY NIGHT! A true blessing for an old Grannie. I now have an " adopted grandson"! He deserves more that an " atta boy!" ..he deserves a raise!! The manager Dave was just as sweet as Austin and I will certainly be back and bring all the " Golden Girls" with me!!
Thank you Dave for hiring such a great server. AND AUSTIN.. THANK YOU FOR MAKING AN OLD LADY LAUGH AND FEEL LOVED ... even in a...
