DoubleDave's Pizzaworks — Restaurant in Austin

This is my go-to pizza place in my neighborhood. The folks working behind the counter are all wonderful. The pizza is good, the happy hour prices are fantastic, and they have Simpsons pinball. The good one.

Happy hour: $2.50 pints (decent draft beer selection) $8.00 pitcher

Pizza - Good. I mean, people get all weird about pizza and claim that some parlor they went to in '96 on a business trip to Chicago is the greatest pizza and everything since has been a disappointment. I don't know how to address that.

They also have a points deal where every $ spent is a point and at 100 points you get a medium, two topping pizza (it used to be at 50 points but that was insane. Beautifully insane).

The restaurant was extremely clean. The staff was friendly and the pricing was decent. I was so disappointed in the quality of the pizza. I ordered the pizza of the month, "the wingman." I took one bite before I had to fix it. For some reason I couldn't even taste the wing sauce or blue cheese. And it was sweet????? The photos will say it all ...... I just wish I got a picture of when it came out. It literally looked like Shrimp Alfredo on a pizza. 1st pic is what the pizza should have come out like. Might have even tasted the wing sauce. 2nd pic literally looks like a pizza with no sauce or white sauce. Certainly not Buffalo!! Anyway there's a homeless man and his dog that are enjoying it...

If I could give this location 0 stars, I would. First order- 3 large pizzas. When I opened them, they were all smushed to the side as if dropped. I called the manager who was nice and apologetic who comped the order and offered $7 large pizzas the next week. Said she would be there that day and to speak to her when making the next order. Second order- an hour and a half late ( was supposed to arrive at noon), due to them forgetting to process the order, also $7 pizza deal was denied and was told was never offered. More comped pizza order for their error. I like their pizza, but this location needs more competent employees. They will never get my business again and I will spread the word....
