Stop by this place and ordered a slice of pizza. I was given a burnt pizza so I went back to let the girl at the window know. She goes on to tell me that all the pizza are burnt like that with an attitude. I put the pizza on the counter inside the window and ask for my money back because I am not paying for the pizza. She throws the pizza back out the window and tells me to throw it away for health reasons and that I cannot get a refund. The whole time she had a bad nasty attitude which in return I gave her that same attitude back. She then said she would give me another slice and threw a pizza in the oven and then ask another clown that works there if he could do a refund. He comes to the counter and tries to give me a refund and I check my account and the payment was still pending. I let him know that the money was not refunded and he says he can put another slice in the oven because there is a no refund policy. I ask him for the managers name and phone number and he puts the number on a receipt and scribbles the managers name on the paper. I passed words when him as well. Now the thing that is so funny about the whole ordeal is that while I was standing there waiting for my pizza I notice that the Permit to Operate a Food Enterprise was expired. You have an unprofessional female working the register and cutting up pizzas without washing her hand after handling the front window with a nasty attitude that pretty much was saying to me “you take that burnt pizza because you aren’t getting your money back and a expired permit! I’ve been to this place many times and never had a problem and the workers have always been professional. This could have got ugly because people are tired of being disrespected! If you don’t like your job or the color of my skin you might wanna find you something else to do! I did receive the refund after speaking with my bank also. Austin has been ruined by people like this and I’m sick of it like...
Read moreI was first introduced to ESP through a meetup group. They would always order ESP pies for every meeting and although I'm not exactly a fan of their crust, I am a fan of their quality toppings. Only recently have I actually looked at their menu and discovered that they have a lot of unconventional toppings for those who like to be a little more adventurous.
Recently we tried their Little Piggy and YYZ. The Little Piggy substitutes the typical red sauce with a black bean sauce. The smokiness of the black bean complimented well with the sweetness of their pulled pork and pickled coleslaw along with the creaminess of the goat cheese. Their YYZ had a great first bite impression, but that may be because I love the taste and aroma of curry. Compared to the curry sauce, the chicken tasted under season; I wish it would have been heavily peppered instead. I liked how the jalepenos added a bit more heat. Ultimately though, I wish there were more curry sauce; the closer I got to the crust, the less of the sauce I could taste.
The service here is also great. We had forgotten to add goat cheese on our Little Piggy to go, but our server offered to add it right at check out to give us a...
Read moreEast Side Pies is one of the top pizza places on Austin, not only according to me, but also local foodies. I happen to be blessed with the good fortune of living within walking distance of their Airport Blvd location, and they have never disappointed.
The menu is very large and pies can be customized to your liking. Meat and vegetarian options are available, and they offer many types of sauces, vegetables, toppings and styles. The crust is generally thin and the toppings are very fresh. I'm fairly certain anyone who visits East Side Pies, including the pickiest of customers, will find at least one (or many) pizzas to their liking.
The Airport Blvd location is small and has limited seating, but since most customers choose to eat their pizza at home, we often manage to find a spot and eat it there. East Side Pies is a BYOB establishment, so feel free to bring your favorite drink to pair with their tasty pizzas.
You like them spicy? Try their homemade sauces. They're spicy alright, and good too. You won't regret it!
I recommend this Austin...
