If you prefer concise reviews, here you go: Yes, make no mistake, you should definitely visit The Peached Tortilla. You will not be disappointed. And if for some reason you are disappointed, then it will be your own damn fault, not that of The Peached Tortilla.
If you prefer longer, more in-depth reviews, here you go: Walk through the door and a delightfully enticing smell is there to welcome you even before the hostess can get to you. Give your eyeballs a moment to catch up and realize what a delightfully nice and clean restaurant this is. Now greet the kind, informative hostess who welcomes you, finds you a table, tells you a little bit about the place, and makes a recommendation or two to boot. Take a good hard look at the menu to get your salivary glands juicing. Say hello to your friendly, adorable waitress and then go ahead and order the Kimchi Queso with a Wasabi Mary. The Wasabi Mary is one of the best drinks I've ever had—big, strong, creative, refreshing, and delicious. My dear companion ordered a margarita but realized her mistake as soon as she saw and subsequently tasted my wonderful Wasabi Mary. She promptly ordered one of her own. Enjoy your delectable starter and, when you're ready, put in your order for the main meal. My dear companion and I went for the Taco Trio and the Korean Steak & Eggs, sharing everything as usual. The three tacos we selected were the Chicken Pad Thai Taco, the Cauliflower Taco, and the BBQ Brisket Taco. Each one of them was incredibly tasty even without the provided sauces and leftover Kimchi Queso which we made expert use of. The Korean Steak & Eggs was to die and/or to kill for. That steak was indescribably tender and savory, and the eggs were actually quite well done (a simple task that we find many kitchens somehow can't handle). What a fabulous lunch! The lovely Jen came back around to ask about our experience and we had nothing but good things to say. “Five stars!” I told her, and that was before word somehow got out that it was my dear companion's birthday and Jen brought us a very interesting popcorn-infused ice cream on the house along with a nice birthday card signed by the entire staff. The only thing missing was a humiliating song of some kind! We finally tried The Peached Tortilla because the name kept popping up on “Best Restaurant” lists and the Googler. It really is one of the best restaurants around (so good we didn't even think about stealing anything). It's not terribly expensive, either. Look, even the bathrooms at this place are nice: clean, gender-inclusive facilities with adorable diaper-changing stations and designer faucets. Suffice it to say, The Peached Tortilla is just an all around fantastic restaurant. I can't wait to go back and try the...
Read moreI can't wait to come back! I unfortunately did not get a picture of everything I ordered, but truly, everything was exceptional. Definitely book a reservation! We didn't see any recommendations on booking ahead online so we just went. We were told it was a 30-45 minute wait. We accepted that and waited in the car for not even 10 minutes before they called to say another table didn't show up for their reservation and therefore a table was ready for us.
For starters we got the 'Charred Brussels, Banchan Pickles, and Kimchi Arancini Balls.'
Charred Brussels - delicious!
Banchan Pickles - amazing. Especially the cauliflower 👍
Kimchi Arancini Balls - omg. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Both dipping sauces were GREAT, but the wasabi aioli sauce was phenomenal. I definitely would buy a bottle of that.
For dinner we had the 'Southern Fun' and the 'Japa Jam Burger' with 'Bacon Jam Fries,' with a 'Padiddle' and a 'Margarita De Peached' to drink.
Southern Fun - If you can handle some spice, then this is a tasty selection. Packed with flavor without being drowned in sauce/ broth. Therefore, I didn't make a complete mess with my noodles for probably the first time in my life. Definitely reordering when I go back.
Japa Jam Burger with Bacon Jam Fries- I loved these. They are separate items on the menu, but I requested to sub my regular fries with the Bacon Jam Fries. The burger is definitely unique, but not short on flavor or deliciousness by any means. I am head over heels in love with the Bacon Jam Fries though. The fries are something else I'll never go back without reordering.
Padiddle - gin, lemon juice and serrano honey makes for an exceptional, sweet yet not sugary, and spicy yet not overbearing cocktail.
Margarita De Peached - habanero infused tequila, thai basil, cointreau, and lime juice.... Blown away. Has a nice kick to it with a smooth flavor. Excellently paired with the Southern Fun dish!
For dessert we shared an 'Asian Movie Night.' I'm not much of a sweet tooth, so it didn't blow me away. However, don't let that discourage you from ordering it. It was a wonderful finish to the meal. Although, I'm curious to try the 'Banana Nutella Spring Rolls' next time we go.
Aside from the food, the overall experience matched the quality of our meal. It is very clean. The staff is friendly, helpful, and very knowledgeable of the menu. The environment is warm and welcoming. Did I mention I can't...
Read moreWe came for Valentine's Day and were a little disappointed that we were unable to order off the regular menu. They had a special menu made with a preset price for the holiday--a starter, entree, and dessert for $55. I'm unsure if this was made clear with the reservation because my husband is the one who made it, but we were both surprised. Initially, I ordered a Korean pancake as my starter while my husband ordered some lamb wontons. The wontons were unique and came with a peanut chili sauce covered in cilantro--quite good. The Korean pancake had good flavor on the vegetables, but it was thick and chewy and tasted of raw batter. For literally the first time ever, I sent it back to the kitchen. I was told repeatedly that it's supposed to be that way. Our server was apologetic and got us some more wontons instead. I was pretty embarrassed about the whole thing, but they were kind. The entree options were between a seared tuna and a Malaysian curry with pork, so we got one each. The tuna dish was very unique, being served on a squash puree and topped with crispy lotus pod slices. The tuna was spicy and of good quality. The curry had a very strong, almost a little overpowering, flavor. The meat was tender, but the whole thing just seemed a little too much, as it was covered in chili and saffron, and all of the flavors muddled together. Out of the two dessert options, we both ordered a lychee creme brulee. It was light and held the lychee flavor well. I'm not a huge fan of the texture, but that's personal preference as my husband loved it. There were sometimes long periods of time when we weren't checked on when we needed service, while sometimes also being checked on a little too often. It was a busy night in there. Our check came to be $130 with taxes and fees and a lemonade. This was just really disappointing because the restaurant limited our choices and forced us to pay a set amount, and the food just wasn't at that level. I wish I could have tried their...
