El Pollo Sabroso — Restaurant in Austin

You know the food's going to be good when all the local construction workers walk in. This place has some good homemade food. Their specialty is the pollo asado. It is grilling right in front of you as you eat your meal, inside the store The half chicken meal comes with rice, beans, tortillas and salsa , and it is enough for one very hungry person or even enough to split between two. The beans have chorizo and sausage in them. They also offer other tacos and plates, from carnitas, to barbacoa to breakfast items. The store is located inside of the meat market. You have to figure out what you want and then pay at the main meat market counter. After that, take your receipt to the food counter and they will hand you your meal. The kitchen staff is friendly, don't forget to pay for your beverage as well. Come check them out, very economical and very very tasty....

One of, if not The BIGGEST burritos you will find on the Southside for $9.50 You can't find any bigger for that price. They put alot of meat inside and all the extras hella good. Muy Rico!!! And the Pollo Asado is better than Pollo Rico hands down and only $19.50 for a WHOLE CHICKEN w/ tortillas and 4 sides. Big chunks of chicken instead of the little pieces you get everywhere else. TRY IT YOU WONT...

Im on a mission to find the best Pollo in Austin and I have to say… El Pollo Sabroso is one of the main contenders in my list!! As soon as you walk inside La Moreliana you can smell the flavors since it’s being grilled right in front of you! Arroz needs more flavor but the frijoles compensate it!! Really good chicken would...
