We contacted Build It ATX to inquire about having a plank ceiling installed in our living room, which had 1970s era popcorn texture and some damage that had occurred during a previous electrical installation. The person who came out to bid the job was Fionn, and he was very thorough about our options, as well as being completely upfront about the possible issues that could come up with the job. (Normally the popcorn ceiling would be removed before installing plank, but we were requesting that they simply cover the existing ceiling).

The bid came in at about what we had expected and we scheduled the job. We were informed that they were working to finish up a big job they were already working on, so delays were possible. And, in fact, our job was delayed by a few days, but Fionn was communicative about the issues during the whole process.

The crew that showed up on the day of was exceptionally professional, very respectful of the property and of us as they were working in our house. They opened a conversation with us about some options we had as to how the installation would be done and were informative regarding our questions. And after they were finished, they left the property completely clean, which can not be said for many other companies.

And the ceiling looks fantastic. Their work was very precise, clean and finished. We are tremendously satisfied with the results.

Fionn and his team did a superb job rebuilding our pergola and patio—we couldn’t be more thrilled with the result. Contractors are usually notorious for being not-so-great communicators, but this was not the case for Fionn. He’s an excellent communicator and it was never a challenge getting a hold of him. He is also remarkably transparent. He sent out one of his project managers multiple times to confirm every detail with us before we moved ahead with the project, and then once the project began, he kept us apprised throughout the entire duration, informing us of any pertinent details along the way and providing recommendations (e.g., noting termite damage on part of our house).

Our wonderful experience with this company has made us far less hesitant to consider future renovation projects with our house. Fionn and his team are both seasoned and exceedingly knowledgeable with just about everything regarding pergolas, decks, concrete work, roofing, house siding—essentially anything home renovation related. They went above and beyond to ensure that the final result was absolutely perfect both aesthetically and structurally. We will happily work with them again...
