This restaurant was suggested by my friend who is a local in Austin. We were driving from Dallas to San Antonio and decided to stop here with friends and family. Overall, we really enjoyed most of the dishes served. A special mention to Vasavi, who was excellent in suggesting dishes — her recommendations were spot on. Kudos to her for guiding customers toward the right food choices. • Tomato Soup with bread crumbs – 5/5. Simple and tasty. • MB (Mama Bros) Special Kabab – 4/5. A signature dish with great flavor. • MB Lotus Stem – 5/5. My first time trying lotus stem, and I really liked it. • Nethi Kori – 5/5. The chicken was tender and flavorful, with a presentation we loved. • Kids Chicken Fried Rice – 2/5. It was quite bland, but Vasavi explained it was made mild for kids. • Gongura Paneer Biryani – Ordered but didn’t taste it. • Dum Chicken Biryani – 5/5. Came with 3 chicken pieces, though I asked for 2. Chicken was tender, salan was delicious, though the portion size was a bit small. • Naans (butter, garlic, bullet) – All were nicely presented with coriander on top. • Beetroot Kofta – 5/5. I was hesitant to order, but Vasavi assured me it was good, and she was right. Ordered spicy — you couldn’t even taste the beetroot. My mother-in-law, who was skeptical, also enjoyed it. • Apricot Delight – 5/5. So good we ordered another round. • Rabadi with Gulab Jamun – 4/5. Rabadi was great, but the gulab jamun could use some improvement. • Masala Soda with sugar – My friend ordered it and said it was good. • Manasshanthi drink – Stronger in flavor, but just okay.
Service & Ambience: Service was quick and attentive, with a fine-dining vibe. Bathrooms were neat and clean, always a good reflection of the kitchen’s standards.
Cons: • The menu is vast, but only available digitally. For first-timers, this can be a bit inconvenient, especially if there are network issues or if you don’t get a good server to guide you. • We wanted to order chai and another dish at the end, but when we called Vasavi, she mentioned the kitchen was already closed. It would help if staff informed customers about last order timings so they can plan better. • No mouth freshener was provided at the end. For a restaurant that serves delicious food and carries a fine-dining feel, this small courtesy goes a long way. I noticed a similar comment in another review as well.
Overall: Despite these minor issues, the meal was delicious and memorable. We definitely plan to return and try more items. In Houston, Aga’s has always been a must-visit for us, and now Mama Bros might take that spot in Austin. Please continue maintaining this consistency in cleanliness, food quality, and excellent staff like Vasavi. We’ve seen other places, like Inchin Bamboo, decline over time in quality, it would be a shame for that to...

My first time to Mama Bro's here at Pflugerville on a Thursday afternoon when I received an invite on social media for their soft opening. Before I go into detail about my experience, I want to let the readers know that this review is not sponsored in any capacity by anyone. This is purely based on my experience only.
To begin, I was blown away with the ambiance of this place. High ceilings, beautiful chandeliers, room interiors, and custom silverware and glassware did give this restaurant a fine dining feel. The staff were courteous, the owners welcoming, and the warm lighting set the mood, intriguing me to check out what food options they had to offer. Upon going through the menu, I did find quite a few dishes that were new and refreshing, unlike the same dishes I am used to seeing in every other Indian restaurant. The menu wasn't just about tikka masalas, butter chicken, and the biryanis. Offerings such as Galouti kebab and ghee roast mutton were a few dishes to name that I, to date, haven't come across at any Indian restaurant here in Austin and the surrounding suburbs. I know, so far this place ticks all the boxes promising a fine dining experience. Heck, even I was convinced.
Until... We were ready to order. This is where we were blown back by what we weren't expecting. The staff were unaware of what was available on the menu and what wasn't. This led to a lot of back and forth between the table and the kitchen.
Finally, after placing the order of the limited items available from their extensive menu, we waited for 45+ mins. Upon their arrival, all the excitement turned into dismay. Oily food and a smidgen quantity. The food really left us speechless and definitely not in a positive way. I understand this was their soft opening, and the staff, chefs, and the owners here are getting the hang of things. But your customers shouldn't be the guinea pigs to be experimented with subpar quality food in the name of fine dining. The effort that went into building the restaurant was missing from their food. We were very hopeful that this could be the answer to a genuine fine dining Indian restaurant. Sadly, the search is still on.
I do plan to visit here again in a month's time in hope that my first impressions aren't the only impression I hold for this restaurant, which I believe has a lot of potential. Good...
Read moreThe MAMA BROS is a hidden gem!The ambiance is warm and inviting, with soft lighting, and very well color coordinated vibe , from the cozy atmosphere to the impeccable service, every detail was perfect.
We tried Tandoori chicken and plain Naans with it , tandoori chicken was flavorful and juicy and naans were soft and served hot.
The winner for me was my very Favorite from this place now on and its going to be Mutton Dum Biryani as they genuinely cooked the mutton on dum and it was undoubtedly cooked to perfection, this is Indeed the best and most authentic Hyderabadi Dum Biryani and this will always keep me coming back to this restaurant for sure!!🤩🤩
The dessert selection was equally impressive.Their apricot delight is worth a try , its very rich and delicious. Loved every bite! 😍
The irani chai they serve is authentic too.. and definitely the best end to the meal!
We were two people and it costed us $70 for the three main items and it might feel a little pricey but I also felt it was very much worth it and I would definitely spend some extra money for a place that delivers authenticity and perfection as it promises
And The service was impeccable. The staff was knowledgeable, attentive, friendly and truly made us feel like valued guests. Both Shahid and Praveen took good care of us and it was an exceptional and enjoyable experience at the MaMa BrOs !!!
Highly recommend for anyone looking for top-tier food and a relaxed vibe!
UPDATE :
recently tried their Chicken 555 , its a must try and again highly recommended… almost similar to dynamite chicken but with Indian flavors its even better and very rich with so much cashews to add crunch , loved it!! 😍
Also tried their Cheese and Olive cigars , its a very yummy and very unique kind of appetizer… definitely chewy with the cheese and crispy outside , goes with salsa type sauce which compliments the cigars very well. A must try again , kids will love them for sure.
Both the dishes were plated beautifully and looked very unique 😍
Also tried their Gulab Jamun cupcake!! Its the best next dessert after the apricot delight , undoubtedly excelling in everything they put their mind to. Highly recommended again!! 🤩🤩🤩
Rest the service is undoubtedly the best and attentive of our needs and a very kind and friendly nature...
