McDonald's — Restaurant in Austin

I placed a mobile order at this location this morning for a bacon egg and cheese bagel but I wanted to substitute the folded egg for the round egg. In the app they don’t have a substitute option but instead want me to pay $2.37 for an “extra” egg….even though it’s not an extra egg if I removed the original egg from the order and they still charged me the same amount with/without the egg. So I removed the egg from my order and was just going to ask them to put the round egg on when I got to the restaurant because it’s just a substitute. If I were to order this at the window they would have substituted the item for me without charging me extra! When I arrived the Manager Maria was extremely rude from the beginning! She asked me for my code and before I could even finish she was speaking over me asking me what my name was and again, cut me off and asked me what my code was….this happened 3 or 4 times! I then was trying to ask for the round egg and she again….cut me off and told me that I ordered a bagel with no egg and told me to pull ahead to the 2nd window. After pulling up to the window she came out and said “you pay for egg or you get no egg” over and over over again. I kept trying to explain that this was just a substitute and I shouldn’t have to pay for the “extra” egg and she wouldn’t even let me speak. At one point she literally shut the window and walked away while I was talking to her. I have never had such horrible service! I ended up paying for the egg so in total I paid $6.86 for a stupid breakfast sandwich. I really hope that Maria is held accountable for the way she...

Update: 12/03/2024... I had occasion to revisit this location, and they seem to have modified the A/C output to a more reasonable temperature. I was glad they did and will return because the overall customer service has always been good to excellent.

Update: 11/20/2024... Unfortunately, I've had to quit this location because they keep it way too cold inside. I can see having it set colder in the heat of summer, but it is now November. The days are cooler, but it is terribly uncomfortable temperature-wise, especially for those of us over 65. I have found several other locations where the temperature is more comfortable and have decided to patronize them.

Update: 08/19/2023...Great ambiance, fast accurate service for my mobile order every time, temperature is kept at a comfortable setting, and the music is conducive to peaceful and relaxing dining. I give 5 stars as of today 2018: Each visit to the store would get a different rating. I have to admit that some days it would get one star, some days it gets five stars. Today is four stars. This facility is always clean. The associates working here, for the most part, are very friendly and very helpful. My food today was not as hot as usual, but I chalk that up to the lack of adequate staffing. This location seems to have a problem keeping morning staff. Worst McDonald's I've ever personally been to. EVERY. TIME. I visit there is a problem that comes up, usually easily avoidable too. Last time I bought something on my meat cheat day, I ordered a signature sandwich meal, and received no meat at all on the sandwich. Called them and asked if i needed to come back or if they could just replace it next visit, the manager (Jaye I believe it was) told me I could just get the meal replaced next visit and they would give me a coupon card for a free meal as well, which I told her I appreciated. I asked if I needed to give her my name for them to keep track of that, and she said no, just tell them you spoke to Jaye and they will take care of it. I stopped in a few days later, and asked to speak with the Manager on staff that day, who was Ariana or Alicia or something like that. She immediate gave me attitude, I told her come in on Tuesday and had spoken with Jaye (I had pulled the date from my call log, did not realize I had ordered on Monday night but called on Tuesday after midnight) and she said she couldn't do anything for me, I was untruthful and Jaye didn't work Tuesday. I went out to my car and found the receipt to prove it, and she rolled her eyes and replaced the sandwich only. Was very disappointed and angry at being called a liar. I refuse to spend any more money here. I will drive to the next one further from my house...
