Papa John's at Parmer Ln left us with a mixed experience on a recent visit during the Labor Day long weekend. After a satisfying hike, we decided to order online, opting for a Large Spicy Garlic Epic Stuffed Crust Garden Fresh pizza with a combination of toppings that included onions, black olives, green peppers, mushrooms, and pineapple.
Upon arrival, we were met with an unexpected situation – the restaurant seemed to be severely understaffed, with only two employees handling the entire operation. The first lady appeared to be multitasking, mainly tending to the oven but also attempting to manage the cash counter whenever a customer arrived to collect their order. Meanwhile, the second lady was busy preparing pizzas and placing them in the oven as orders came in.
Regrettably, our order seemed to have been overlooked, and when we inquired about the status, the employee's response carried a hint of frustration. She informed us that there were eight pizza orders ahead of ours and estimated a waiting time of 50 to 60 minutes. This came as a shock, and we decided to cancel our order. While the employee's tone in her response felt somewhat rude, it was evident that she was overwhelmed due to the lack of adequate staff.
Our frustration wasn't directed at the hardworking employees but rather at the franchise owners. For a restaurant that receives a substantial number of orders, it is essential to have sufficient staff to meet the demands promptly. It was unprofessional for the employee to suggest waiting for an extended period or canceling the order. The responsibility lies with the management to ensure a smooth operation.
In our opinion, if Papa John's wants to maintain its reputation and keep customers satisfied, they should either increase their workforce or limit the number of online orders to match their staffing capabilities. This way, they can maintain the quality of service that customers expect.
Ultimately, while we understand that businesses can face challenges, our experience was disappointing. We won't be ordering from this specific Papa John's location in the future. We hope that the franchise owners take steps to address these staffing issues and provide a better customer experience...
Read moreBy far the worst papa johns I've been to.
The first time I ordered from them, I tried delivery through their app. They cooked it quick and it left to be delivered, only they never arrived. It shows the driver go back and my order says it's baking again, guess they forgot it or something. 45 minutes later it gets picked up by doordash instead, gets to my house and one of the pizzas is missing sauce on like 1/4 of it. It's hard to mess up that bad on a pizza, but they found a way.
Next week, I get a couple in the mail from Papa John's because the last order took so long. This part was nice, large 2 topping pizza on the house. I order it and it takes 45 minutes for them to start baking it, but then a few minutes after it started baking I get a text that it was ready, which seemed a little too fast. I drive down to the restaurant to pick it up and they say that it hasn't been baked yet and to give them 10-15 minutes, so uh why did I get a text saying it was ready? From what the guy there said, a lot of people have been reporting the early texts tonight.
What this really means... Somebody there is marking orders as ready before they've even baked them. They cannot cook a pizza on time but still mark the order as ready too early so you can come and wait for it. I'd rather they just text me when it's actually ready but I assume they're faking some metrics or something.

Read moreNEVER order from this papa John’s. Manager is soo rude and they always take 2 hours minimum. I honestly can’t believe I’m posting a review for a fast food restaurant but I’ve never been treated so poorly by a manager anywhere to be honest. I have ordered from this papa John’s for years but something recently has happened that’s made them absolutely horrible. I’ve decided tonight to give them one more try tonight and ordered my pizza at 6:30. I was very patiently waiting understanding it’s a Friday night but I’m 7 months pregnant and was getting really hungry by 8pm and the tracker kept pushing back to now saying estimated arrival time 8:30 (2 hours) and j just honestly could not wait anymore. So I called the store and politely said hey I know you guys are probably just super busy but I need to go ahead cancel my order it’s just getting too long. And the manager immediately goes on defensive and says “well it IS a Friday night” and I politely said “I totally Get it, it’s just it been quite a it longer than the original estimate I was given which I had anticipated” and he cut me off and said “yea that’s an estimate it’ll be around that time” (the estimate originally was 30-45 min) very rudely, so I just said very calmly “look I’m not trying to fight with the you here. I just need to cancel my order and request a refund” And he rudely says “OK. You’ll see a refund of $26 in 3 business days” and...
