Updated Review:
5/5 stars: After a disappointing takeout experience with the Vegetable Manchurian last time, I decided to give it another shot, and I’m glad I did! I ordered Vegetable Manchurian and Gobi Manchurian this time, and the restaurant went above and beyond by offering the Vegetable Manchurian as a complimentary dish to make up for the previous issue—thank you for the kind gesture and hospitality!
This time, both the Vegetable Manchurian and Gobi Manchurian were spot on. The Vegetable Manchurian had the perfect texture, and the Cauliflower Manchurian was just as crispy as I remember. They also took my feedback seriously and suggested not wrapping the delivery container in plastic, which had been the reason for the sogginess before. They followed through, and it made all the difference.
It’s great to see a restaurant that listens to its customers and makes improvements. Definitely looking forward to ordering from here again!

2/5 stars: I was really looking forward to a crispy Vegetable Manchurian, just like I’ve had during dine-in, but what I got was a complete letdown. I picked up my order and had it within minutes, so there’s no excuse for it being this soggy. Instead of the crunchy, flavorful balls I expected, they were soft, mushy, and drowned in way too much liquid. The texture was completely off, making it more of a saucy mess rather than a proper Manchurian dish. Definitely not what I was hoping for. Wouldn’t order again.

5/5 stars: After half a year living in Austin, I finally set foot in Suprabhat restaurant that's been a neighbor to my apartment all this while. The warm village-hut ambiance, vibrant with rustic charm, greeted me – a whimsical touch that captures the essence of India's rich cultural tapestry.
I feasted on a Mysore Masala Dosa, which, to my delight, rivalled the authenticity of Saravana Bhavan's offerings. The dosa was expertly prepared, its crispy edges giving way to a perfectly spiced filling. Accompanied by a masala chai (tea), the aromatic brew was a fitting end to the meal.
Though it took me a while to discover this gem, I can assure you, my next visit will be soon – with such responsive and courteous service, how could it not be? Referred to me by a friend who frequents this spot, I can see why it comes highly recommended. The servers were attentive and kind, ensuring the meal was a memorable one.
In a city that's a melting pot of food cultures, this restaurant stands out for its homely feel and genuine South Indian flavors. It's a culinary retreat I'm eager to return to, a place that reminds me that sometimes the best flavors are just...
Read moreWish I could leave a 0 star rating. Came here with so much expectation as seems to be a highly rated Indian restaurant in Austin but was totally disappointed. Firstly, there were no proper management/service. They made us sit next to the washroom/hand wash area, which was crowded and very very dirty. The menu had a lot of items but with absolutely no good description. I ordered the North Indian Thali, for which the waiter said it would have 4 gravies, poori/chapati and biriyani. I opted for poori. When they bought the food out, I was in shock to see the size of the poori and to see the thali have south Indian food in it. The thali had 3 small poori, and seems ro be a limited thali. For the price, it being limited seems fair however I still cannot believe the size of the poori. The thali had another, which did not taste fresh at all! So so bad. The menu also had another thali which seemed to be half of North and half of South Indian thali food. I assumed they gave me the wrong order, so I asked them to replace it. The waiter did not have any clue and told me all the food is bulk made and re-heated now. I also asked about the poori, asking why the size was this small. She said usually they make big poori’s but today they did not. And mentioned it was made in the morning. Then the manager came out and was very rude the whole time. He mentioned they forgot that this was North Indian thali, and that it comes with samosas. No apologies btw. The whole time he was literally being very rude. He kept asking us “ do you want extra pooris ?! “ “ what else do you want in the thali?! “ and walked away when I was asking them about the food quality and requested a replacement.
I would never go back again. Food tasted okay, however the quantity, quality and...
Read moreThe food here is good, not excellent. I ordered a thali, and while it came with special rice, the grains were dried up and hard. Beyond the food, there were several things that left me disappointed:
Hygiene Issues The food mats are plastic and reused between customers. Staff simply wipe them on the surface and put them back on tables.
Floors are messy, especially with kids spilling food. Only the tables and mats are cleaned, while the floor is left dirty.
Walls and benches near table seating are stained with food and never properly cleaned. Sitting next to a wall with visible food marks is very unappealing.
Uncomfortable Seating The extended seating area lacks proper fans or AC. During summer, it gets uncomfortably hot.
Crowded Waiting Area The wait line process is inconvenient. They take your name and party size, but you must wait in a small area that hardly fits 10 people. There’s no option to wait in your car and get notified.
Pricing Concerns Prices feel expensive. To-go containers are not free—you must pay for them. That means if you have leftovers, either pay extra for boxes or throw the food away. Portion sizes can be unpredictable, so you need to be careful with what you order.
Pest Problem Flies and fruit flies were all around our table, which was very distracting and unhygienic.
Slow Service Waiting time for food is long. Even the thali, which should be quick, took nearly 30 minutes to arrive.
⚖️ Overall The food has potential, but the poor hygiene, uncomfortable atmosphere, and high prices overshadow the dining experience. This place needs serious improvements in cleanliness, customer comfort, and...
