We visited Bougie Food at their 1st street location inside the Food Park! There was plenty of parking when we went along with picnic tables near all the food trucks and a partial shaded indoor area next to the parking lot that you could sit.
The most difficult thing was choosing what to order, because EVERYTHING looked INCREDIBLE! What had originally caught our eye was her massive chocolate chip cookies, but after going through the menu decided we had to grab a couple things....
We ordered the biscoff rice krispy treat, puppy chow, chocolate chip cookie, mimi's boozy bread pudding, the salty caramel bar and some drinks (coconut water and lemonade) to wash it down.
We were hesitant to try the bread pudding, because we've never been a huge fan, but she said that the bread pudding was legit the reason that got her started so we couldn't say no... and BOY OH BOY are we glad we did!! It was probably one of our FAVS!!! The vanilla flavoring, caramel and slight salt that came through with a cakey/custardy type texture to the bread was absolutely HEAVEN!!! We seriously could have eaten another tray of that thing. I honestly didn't even want to share that! haha!
The salty caramel was also super unique and another fav that was hard to share lol. It was like one of those soft chewy caramel candies mixed with a delicious buttery shortbread cake.
The puppy chow was also incredible!!! The PB and Chocolate flavoring and crunchy texture was out of this world! Plus it held up for days as we continued to eat the rest days later.
The biscoff rice krispy treat had that perfect chewy pull and crunch and was loaded inside and out.
The chocolate chip cookie felt like it legit came fresh out of the oven!! It was LOADED with chocolate chips, like LOADED! Great slight crisp on the outside and the perfect gooey inside. WOW! If you LOVE lots of chocolate in your cookie this is for you! Yum!
But honestly everything was SOOOOO delicious and we MUST try some of the other items on her menu like the PB stuff, the brookies, and the list goes on! Guess we have to eat our way through the menu!
If you LOVE dessert then you MUST make a trip to Bougie Foodie!! She is currently only open in the evening and will soon be opening a brick and mortar so take note! But seriously she is a MUST STOP...
Read moreDefinitely a gem in Austin! If you like Levain or Teddy V Patisserie style cookies, then you'll like this place. Pretty good coffee crumb cake, too, but the cinnamon roll was the 🌟 of the show.
The owner is very nice, personable, and clearly passionate about her business. With that, if there was one suggestion we would make, it would be to implement some sort of real-time inventory for limited quantity items (i.e. the cinnamon roll). We pre-ordered around 8:30pm today, drove from Georgetown, and arrived only to be told the cinnamon rolls were sold out. It would have been nice to know ahead of time our order couldn't be fulfilled. We appreciate the owner offering a swap, but because our preferred item was out we took the refund.
This place will win because it's so good, but we hope to see some improvements in the online ordering...
Read moreI absolutely LOVE The Bougie Foodie! It is hands down the BEST cookie in Austin. The staff are incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely friendly.
I stumbled upon this place one evening while on the hunt for a good dessert and couldn’t believe what a hidden gem I had found. Now — it’s not so hidden — and honestly, it was only a matter of time before the word got out about how exceptional everything tastes.
Every bite feels like it was baked with love.
I’ve seen a few reviews complaining about long wait times… but that has never been my experience. The owner and staff are always upfront and overly communicative if you need to wait for something (that is being baked fresh), which I really appreciate. They’re a small business doing big things, and I’ll keep supporting them for as long as they’re baking these...
