The Celia Jacobs Cheesecake Experience:
As a New Yorker and a cheesecake chef myself, me and my mom have made cheesecakes for years and sold them all over New York and then 6 other states;
My review will first mention the pleasant and happy demeanor of who I believe was working today (the owner), maybe it wasn’t the owner, but I thought it was.
She was super jolly and happy and very friendly and she explained every single one of the cheesecakes that she had available so delightfully.
We were so excited to try out the spot because we had been looking at it for a long time and I had saved it on my Google “Want to go places”.
I will say my honest review is that the cheesecake itself was very good in the flavors and the mango one was my favorite.
I will add though that the crust is a little too sweet for me because as a cheesecake baker where I’m from it’s made almost more like a actual cheese….. in that, there’s even ricotta cheese added to the cheesecake itself so it’s almost more like a wheel of cheese by the time you sit down to eat it ?
and the bottom/crust is never sweet.
it’s more of a tart experience and they kind of bland cheese flavor in my humble opinion,
but I do believe for a Texas style cheesecake.
This was a 4.5 star since I can’t do a 4.5. I’m just gonna give it a four !!!
This was a Tremendous little cheesecake place and great prices. With great friendly staff and amazing little decor and truck.
4 mini cakes for $12 bucks???? Fantastic...
Read moreKimmie Possible is behind the counter just serving up so much love in every bite. So when you need that amazing cheesecake fix, call her beep her or just drive up during business hours. Either way you'll find yourself in paradise. The cookie crumble is made to a perfect crisp with a delightful and invigorating buttery burn crunch. The cheesecake itself finds a remarkably balanced amount of fluffy and creamy in every bite. Not to mention the assorted flavors that hit the mark for all the cravings I can imagine. Today I had espresso coffee flavor, the orange cream, the chocolate with Ghirardelli drizzle and of course the classic New York style. Count yourself lucky if you find your way into the parking lot where these nice, hard working folks park the trailer. I'm double lucky since I'm just right down the street. Can't wait to try...
Read moreThe owner is so sweet and friendly. I wanted to support her but gotta say it was probably my worst cheesecake experience. The cheesecake I prefer is rich, deep, cheesy and creamy flavorful like cheesecake factory plain cheesecake, but their cheesecake was too jiggly and gelatin-y if that makes any sense. Once I got cheesecake from HEB just like these- super jiggly and gelatiny and tasted like a jello. Another thing is, I know it’s a dessert and supposed to be sweet, but their cheesecake is toooo sweet. I could feel the sugar rush afterwards and felt sick.
Maybe this kind of cheesecake is appealing to some people, but definitely wasn’t for me. If you’re looking for rich, deep, thick, creamy cheesecake, look for somewhere else.
Like another review said, if you visit here, it’s to support wonderful owner, not for the...
