Try this place at least once!

Ratings can really come down to personal expectations being met or not. Each place has a right to be unique and have its own style. With that said…

I searched bbq and this place caught my attention with a 4.8 review. I looked at the menu (which can vary) and decided not to go here because i was craving my preference brisket, beans, mac n cheese, nana pudin…and their selection of sides did not appeal to me. But everywhere else close to me had lower reviews so i decided to just go for it and I’m glad i did.

They have a certain way they do things and that’s their freedom. The menu changes some and it’s while supplies last. I recommend not having your mind firmly made up before you get there so you can be a little flexible.

My opinion on the food…brisket was perfect to me, the sauce was amazing! Next time I’m asking for a few extra because it paired with the brisket perfectly. Loaded potato salad needed some salt for taste but I’m also glad it didn’t have much cuz it’s probably healthier that way but in all honesty i only took a few bites but please keep in mind this is personal preference. Peach cobbler and blackberry were good, i was full by the time i got to them so only took a few bites but they are very generous portions, they would be great warmed up and with some milk.

I feel like a lb of brisket and a side of their potato salad and a peach cobbler would feed 2 people, everyone’s different but that’s my opinion. Considering that, i feel the price is fair.

Overall 4 star for hitting my personal preference notes but 5 star for standard...

Boy, I sure am glad I gave these guys a second chance. I showed up on one of their "Mondays" (really wed/ thurs, now friday) when they first opened up.

I ordered brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and ribs. Everything was dry and tasted like it was leftover from the previous week.

Being a diehard BBQ fanatic, I went back the following week with an open mind. This time well into the start of the day.

They did not disappoint. Therefore, a 5* rating has been given.

I've been back several times.

I'm hoping to snare some boudin and crawfish on my next run.

FYI- Their homemade pickles and onions are exceptional. I hope to try their hot pineapple.

Their homemade loaded potato salad rates good in my book.

Just moved to south Austin with my bf and kept driving by this place so we figured we had to give it a try. We came by at 12:45pm on a Sunday and were surprised there was no line, we had heard it was always busy. After we ordered, a crowd of 15 people or so piled in line behind us so we just lucked out on timing. This place is absolutely worth the hype and the stellar reviews you’ll see online. The guys working were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We both ordered the 2 tacos, each getting 1 pulled pork and 1 brisket. The meat is so tender, has amazing flavor, and they put so much on each taco. (We have leftovers). This is coming from two foodies who have had their fair share of Texas BBQ. We also wanted to try the loaded potato salad and the pickled pineapple (warning: it is relatively spiced). Both sides super unique and delicious!
