This restaurant is in the hotel. We showed up at the restaurant desk 13 minutes late because we were waiting and waiting and waiting for the valet to show up and then after waiting and waiting, we couldn’t find a valet so we went to the front desk and they were trying to help us and finally we were able to park the car And get to the restaurant where we need to wait another several minutes until someone chose to speak to us. By this point we were 17 minutes late being helped. We were told they have a strict grace period of 15 minutes so our reservation was canceled. After waiting another 10 minutes until they were able to locate a manager we were told that it was our fault because we should’ve called while we were waiting for the valet. I explained that perhaps they should have the valet accessible. They really were not interested in what we had to say or in providing any of customer service and certainly not interested in helping us. Unbelievable treatment. Total lack of courtesy. We left and went to one of our favorite restaurants which is always very grateful for our business and treats us like valued customers. Go to A Modo...

To start, the lobster bisque and oysters were fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the meal. However, the main course was a letdown. The ribeye was disappointingly chewy and lacked the tenderness you'd expect from a steakhouse at this price point. The garlic mashed potatoes, which should be a staple side, were bland, over-whipped, and forgettable.
The service was okay but again missed the mark for a high end steak house. We did not have plates or steak knives when our food arrived.
Beyond the food, the overall atmosphere felt more like a crowded resort restaurant than a refined steakhouse experience. Not the intimate or upscale vibe we were hoping for.
In the end, it simply wasn’t worth the cost. There’s potential here, but they have a lot of work to do to justify the premium...
Read moreWe were excited to check out Avalon Prime. Unfortunately very disappointed in the overall experience. Our waitress was a lovely and attentive at first and then went completely MIA. It took 1 hour for appetizers to arrive and another for steaks to finally come out. We kept being told the kitchen was backed up but that was hard to believe as the restaurant was only half full. God help them when they are packed. We finally flagged the manager as we wanted to at least get our drinks freshened as we waited. He apologized and said he would comp a few things. He only comped one glass of wine. We didn’t even bother complaining as that would have taken forever like the rest of the meal.
