IKONA Beach Bar is one of my favorite spots in Avalon. The vibes are always on point. Sitting out in the sun with a beer, toes in the sand, and friends all around—it doesn’t get much better. I’ve been here a few times and usually the music really brings the energy, but this weekend the band Aloha My Broha was a little too mellow. Still a fun time, just not as lively as usual. Overall, it’s a great place to spend an afternoon and I’ll definitely be back.

We ordered drinks and dinner from this place. I was surprised how small the cups were, pretty much finished it in three sips. The food was decent. I really liked the Salmon Po Boy. Coconut Shrimp and Guacamole Nachos were very good too. Staying at Icona Avalon hotel, this place comes handy, when you are too tired to go out to eat, and just want some relaxing time, enjoying small meal & drinks by the pool/hot tub.

Great outdoor location with excellent service. Come right off the beach for a touch of class and some spirits. Some of the best entertainment can be seen there as well.

I really don't write reviews but my experience was so terrible I feel like I have to. I've come here a few times with family while down the shore. We stopped by last week with a large group after going to the beach. I ordered 2 virgin drinks for myself and my 10 year old daughter. I have not drank alcohol in 10 years. I thought my drink tasted off by my cousin thought it was fine so I drank it. I started to feel a little off but thought it could be the heat. The waitress came around and asked if we wanted another round. We all agreed. She came back with 2 more drinks. This time both with alcohol. My 10 year old immediately spit it out. When we told the waitress about it, there was no apology. She just said "someone else must have the virgin one". She didn't seem to care she just gave alcohol to a literal child. Then she told me my first drink was not a virgin drink and basically blamed me for drinking it. She brought us 2 new ones but was really rude about it. It hit me pretty hard since I hadn't eaten all day so I couldn't fully process what was happening. We had ordered food but she didn't ever even end up bringing half of it. We all got up and left pretty quickly as I was feeling sick. I definitely do not recommend coming here. It's unfortunate since it's the only place near the beach to eat but it's clearly not...

Have been coming to this location and staying here for almost 25 years. Used to be known as the Golden Inn. We were back in the area and decided to give it a try. Overall the set-up is cramped with too many tables and structures on a relatively small plot of sand. There are cabanas and fire tables that are reserved for private or bottle service. Not a single one was occupied. It was mostly families with young Children. It’s a very limited bar menu. I was thinking, based on the new look and hype about the private seating, there was going to be some really good offerings, like locally caught tuna or scallops. Lol. None of that. We got nachos and pizza. Both were excellent. Service was excellent too. So all in all we were happy. It’s just the place has a bit of an identity crisis. They seem like they want to be hip or upscale, but they are not really offering the food or entertainment to pull that off. It’s still a place where mainly families go after the beach....

Great outdoor beach-side location (although no beach views, separated by a dune). Fantastic service, fun live music.

Actively bad food - just poor quality ingredients. Chicken wings were mostly fat and weirdly breaded. You shouldn’t need to bread wings. Waitress warned us away from adding chicken to a salad, on the ground that it was “salad bar chicken” rather than freshly grilled. Hot dog was oddly gray on the outside. Fish on the fish tacos tasted fishy (though wasn’t inedible), and salad greens were spottted with brown. Dressing was sweet and gloopy. I’d take fresh greens with plain olive oil and a lemon anytime! Fries managed to be tasteless. Expensive for the poor quality!

We’ll still come back, because it’s super convenient, great for families, and fun, but we’ll stick to the real food basics. The pizzas looks all right. Here’s hoping they up the quality of their...
