Had high hopes but unfortunately this place didn’t deliver. Came in and waitress said the brunch special was a “Prime Rib Filet with a horse radish sauce.” which makes no sense is it a prime rib or is it a Filet. I asked the waitress to clarify she said it was definitely a filet steak not prime rib. Dish comes out and it was a strip steak no sauce and scrambled eggs on the side. Eggs were never mentioned. Overall the food was mediocre at best. We had the crab omelette, Tuscan shrimp, and sausage gravy as well. Dishes all sounded good on paper but ultimately were very underwhelming and definitely were not made of the quality of ingredients for the kind of money they are charging. Also dishes were lacking items that were in the description that are meant to elevate the dish. For example the sausage gravy said it had fried sage but there was none. To be clear I was expecting to pay well over a hundred dollars because I was also expecting a top notch food experience which I strongly now think they lack the skills necessary to execute. On top of all that they also forgot about our cocktails and only brought them out after we asked. Oh well off to try...
Read moreYou definitely need reservations. We really enjoy this place! Excellent service and the food flavors are an interesting and well executed combination! Flavor-wise everything has been delicious!!. The octopus on the winter menu was some of the best we’ve ever had anywhere . It is unfortunate this restaurant cannot be in a different space because it does get very noisy and cramped in there and the parking is little confusing. My only suggestion is that the service staff do a better job of explaining the specials. I had the brisket entrée off the regular menu which was amazing and a huge piece of meat. So good! My husband ordered the haddock special. It was one of the smallest pieces of fish we’ve ever seen, and it was literally just sitting on the plate in a sauce. It would have been wise for the server to acknowledge that when she was explaining it and suggest that a side dish should be ordered with it. For $29 it seemed way overpriced for what was on the plate. I ended up giving him half of my brisket dinner because I knew he was hungry after he ate that small...
Read moreI really really wanted to love it, but sadly it fell short for me. It was good, but not great. I am hoping to chalk is up to their newness?
Service - was only ok. The server could barely tell us the specials and it would have been nice to have them written down because they didn't mention 2 of the specials that were posted on the chalkboard when we walked in.
Food - Truthfully, everything we tried was tasty, but RICH. I went home and immediately took a Tums. We had the mussels (tasty but in almost a gravy?), scallops (best thing), oriechette pasta (tasty but RICH), and the special french dip (served on a hambuger roll -- lack of crusty bread made it fall apart when dipping). It would be nice if they added some more simple items to balance out the current small plate options on the menu.
Atmosphere - nice vibe as others have reported, but the music did not fit the atmosphere. Was loud top 40 when it would have been better with more of a Pink Martini vibe for the $$ spent.
I'll give it another try in the Fall, but if it doesn't wow me then, I probably...
