Whiskey Bent Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Avon

This place was very lack luster and frankly a let down, since moving to Indy we've been searching for a good local bar, even one rough around the edges. Stepping in, it looked promising, we were quickly disappointed.

Where is the wait staff?

The poor girl serving at the bar....? is this how an operation is to be run....? perhaps downsizing to a more manageable property is in order... because I believe staff vs patrons was not taken in consideration when opening this place.

At some point we felt we would need to roll up our sleeves and cook it ourselves. We waited over 20 min only to be warned by a patron that we would never be served. We promptly got up and walked out.

Is this how a buisness should operate? it may just be a temporary flash in a frying pan as far as I can tell.... more staff to handle lunches is in order.... this place is missing a lot of opportunities for revenue and profit.

If you’re looking for a culinary experience that makes you question your life choices, this is the spot for you! The food here is so bad, it makes airplane meals seem like Michelin-starred cuisine. And as for the drinks? For a place with “whiskey” in the name, you’d expect a selection that doesn’t make you regret your decision. But no, they’ve somehow managed to charge premium prices for bottom-shelf booze. It’s almost impressive in a tragic kind of way.

If you enjoy overpaying for low-grade alcohol while nibbling on what I can only describe as a sad attempt at food, then this is your paradise. But if you value your taste buds and your wallet, I suggest you take your time and find a place that doesn’t feel like a cruel prank on customers. The only redeeming quality? It’s okay for a beer and to catch the game—assuming you need some kind of distraction from the disappointment...

Not really sure where to start ..... We walked an, sat at the bar, and waited, and waited , and waited. There was literally no one behind the bar. Basic bar service says never leave the bar unattended. We did get drinks, bar tender was ok. Food was better than expected , which was a plus. The biggest let down was the smoking. Either the air cleaner does t work at all or it doesn't work correctly , because you could cut the cigarette smoke with a chainsaw . Filled ashtrays littered the bar where no one was seated. The over all stench was appalling and nauseating. Just straight up dirty, wet ashtray. The only reason we stayed was that we drove 45 minutes to Avon and had specifically planned to go here for lunch. Won't make that mistake again , nor would I ever recommend it to anyone else.
