Pho Golden Star — Restaurant in Bailey's Crossroads

First, I will say that the food is outstanding. Plenty of flavor in the broth and everything you could expect plus more if you enjoy pho regularly.

The service, however, was easily the second worst I have ever experienced. We arrived outside of the lunch time rush hour. Expectation is that you seat yourself despite no sign indicating as such. We were not the only group confusedly waiting. It was unclear if tables had been clean or not in this pandemic environment, although that was only a small concern to us. We had to request menus as the waiter forgot to bring some out. It was 10 minutes after that point before anyone took our drink/food order. It was another 10 minutes before drinks arrived with the waiter forgetting to bring a straw. Our food arrived 8 minutes later, but we had to chase down utensils. In all we spent just over 30 minutes to receive a pho order in a restaurant at 50% capacity. Lastly, there was general disregard for covid restrictions. Well, I’ve always gone there for more than 10 years, I live right behind the restaurant I’ve seen new servers come in and out They’re were always amazing But now, recently, since they remodel and change staff, it has become the worst. Today June 8 , 2023 at 11:am Went to get some lunch. I always like mix my pho and this time I got small pho, veggie broth, no onions with soft tendon and crab meat. At first the server said not to the crab meat, I don’t know why, then he changed his mind and say yes, I always ask for extra lime and before no one had a problem of giving me extra lime, today I asked for extra lime, they gave me 2 pieces extra, and when I go to pay They were charging me $1.00 for two lime wedges, come on people, this is ridiculous. I’ve been going every day there for more than 10 years and this is what it has come to? I ordered to go- fried rice and pho seafood. The fried rice that was sent was half a portion, I called the shop was advised to come in after an apology was offered. I walk into the shop the next day, advised what appeared to be the manager who ordered a replacement plate, I decided to order the pho seafood again but paid for a larger size, got home only to discover that they packed the smaller pho seafood!!! I called the shop, spoke to the manager who refused to even listen to me and ended the call!! Can you imagine that??!

I don't care how good your food is, if you're not honest enough to give customers what they pay for, then there that's a problem!! And to have a manager who has no customer care skills and doesn't even make the effort to listen to a customer? That's even worse! I will not be returning to this place but need the mgt to be aware that all it takes to destroy a business is one bad mouth and then its over.
