Staple since discovering this gem 20 years ago when my family moved to the area. Have long since moved and have no shame admitting that Iāll travel 30-45 mins to try a new or high rated ice cream spot and a lot of times find them mediocre to somewhat of a let down. Iāve long since moved from the area but any time Iām remotely close to Cibiks, itās worth planning the rest of your day or night around it. Their Mississippi Mud Pie is my personal go to, but have never had anything I didnāt love, or contemplate ordering when seeing someone take delivery of a pure gold form of frozen dairy delight from the menu. Something for anyone (or in todayās world like 99.99%) seeking some downright best of the best ice cream solo, with friends or family; it is nostalgic on so many levels and truly a place that looks frozen in time but really will put a smile on anyoneās face from the feel-good vibe of the whole experience that wonāt disappoint. Definitely ice cream that Iām pretty sure is impossible to feel guilty since its #3 behind water and oxygen on the shortlist of what your body needs. Treat yoā self is next level and Iām fully prepared to sacrifice a relationship with anyone I know, love or complete stranger who has had Cibiks but claims they know a...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had trouble deciding on what to order because there's so many options here. You can have ice cream, frozen custard, and more in lots of different formats - shakes, sundaes, etc. They don't have any coffee flavored ice cream regularly, but I wish they did because that would make it easier for me to order. There's a coffee flavored shake, though, so that's confusing. I was overwhelmed with all the choices, but I saw a lot of things I wanted to try. A lot of the flavors weren't clear to me like what a pirate's booty or tin roof sundae would be.
I ended up getting the Mississippi mud pie sundae because I was taking too long and know nothing can go wrong with that. They gave me a large portion of whipped cream - the most I've seen in my life, and there was a good amount of chocolate syrup. I noticed all the sundaes and hurricanes in my group had vanilla, but I wonder if I could have had a different flavor instead of vanilla, which isn't clear on the menu without asking. I also got to taste a peanut butter shake, which was a nice consistency. I'd probably have to get a shake next time because those have the flavors I like the most and are the most simple to figure out straight...
Ā Ā Ā Read morei was there last night with my 16 yo son and my friend with ALS. i hadn't been there in 30 years and was visiting from OOT. It was 9:02 and we were behind customers who had just been served. girl at the counter said "sorry we're closed". i explained the situation and she said "sorry can't help you" and closed the window. you guys really need to examine whom you're hiring. that was a grave disappointment completely devoid of empathy. sadly the memories of this place are much better than what it represents today. 09/06/22 owner reached out and made every effort to make things right. he was responsive apologetic and sincere. i'd have no problem trying this place again next...
