Thai Story — Restaurant in Bainbridge Township

I am so glad this owner opened his restaurant in Bainbridge/Chagrin. I've tried 5 other Thai restaurants in the area and Thai Story is definitely the best and consistently great. It's not just the best Thai food I've ever had, it's some of the best overall food I've had. My favorites are Choo Chee Salmon, Roasted Duck Curry, and Flaming Fish. My wife loves the Pineapple Curry and Tom Yum Soup. Having 2 small kids I've only done takeout so imagine how good the food would be dining in. At my last pickup the owner, who is very nice, said his menu is more authentic Thai food rather than American-style Thai food. Thai Story has been open for less than ten days. We were here on their third day and were immediately obsessed with the quality of food, the atmosphere and the incredibly friendly staff. The owner and his family are so friendly and the food is incomparable. Spicy catfish, Bangkok fish, basil fried rice, red curry tofu, roti with blueberry sauce, and the mango sticky rice are to die for good. Place was packed tonight. You can’t miss this if you are anywhere near Chagrin Falls. We live more than 1/2 hr away but I guess will be visiting the falls more often to be have an excuse to dine here. Visited Thai Place, and while the service was excellent, the food overall was a bit bland. I ordered the Calamari and the Chicken & Rice, and both dishes were just okay—not as flavorful as I expected from a Thai spot.

On the bright side, the iced coffee was fantastic—rich, smooth, and full of flavor. Honestly, that was the highlight of my meal.

Even though the flavors didn’t wow me, the staff was attentive and friendly, which made the experience pleasant overall.

Would I return? Possibly for the coffee and to try different dishes, but I’d love to see the food packed with more...
