Cataldo's Pizzeria Riverwalk — Restaurant in Bakersfield

Okayyy, this is the first time we've (the wife and I) been to this Cataldo's Pizzeria! With that said, here is my critique! Men's Restroom door need a sturdier handle, I thought I was going to have an uninvited guest! The wife ordered a medium ½ bacon and ½ cheese and they brought out an all bacon pie! I wasn't that hungry and only had 2 slices, so lots of pie to take home and I'm loosing weight... not good guys!!! They did a small cheese pie for the wife and she enjoyed ½ of her pie... Way To Go!!! The 2go Meat Ball Sub was dropped on the floor by the cook, he didn't have to tell us this happened and we'd never have been the wiser! To Cataldo's Pizzeria credit, they comped my wife her Sub and took down our name and number for the next time we were to dine with them! The Front Staff and the Cook we talked with were wonderful and we plan on coming back... I'm more of a Chicago 🍕 kinda guy but my wife likes pizza pie more than I do so we eat the New York style 🍕 more often!!! TV's are in abundance and the drinks are cold! I would've taken pictures but I broke the camera on my phone!!!

While I’m always eager to support local businesses, I can’t recommend Catalto’s Pizza at all—mainly because of the owners’ behavior. It’s one thing if the food is average or even great, but when the people behind the counter consistently show arrogance, disrespect, and hostility, it ruins the experience entirely.

What’s worse is that their rudeness isn’t limited to customers. They have a long track record of being dismissive and downright nasty toward the other businesses around them. Instead of being part of a supportive local community, they seem to carry ill will toward their neighbors and make little effort to get along.

Good business owners know that customer service and community relations are just as important as the product they sell. Catalto’s clearly hasn’t learned that lesson. In Bakersfield, there are plenty of pizza spots where both the food and the people are warm, respectful, and welcoming. This isn’t one of them. Save yourself the frustration and take your business somewhere it will actually be...

We came here on the spur of the moment google search. My mom was craving a good calzone and we've tried a few places before. So we parked, they weren't technically open for another 10min. But we went in and the person behind the counter was so nice amd took our order, sheet us know the cook wont be back for 5 min. But that as still no problem, we went back to the car and waited. Walked to get a slushie while we waited, it was a total of 15min. We got the Large Calzone with pepperoni, sausage, bacon, bell peppers and red onions. It was phenomenal! 10 out of 10 on our score card. Oh my goodness it was so worth it. We found moms new Calzone place and I cant wait to try the rest of their menu.
