Horribly disappointing establishment. A prime example of a potentially great experience ruined by bad management. How do you ruin BBQ? By not caring about the food or your customers. Walk in and expect to be ignored. No greeting, not a word. The employees generally look miserable. Also very inconsistent in food quality and serving size. Totally hit or miss in regard to what you get. Service is bad. I have had repeated bad experiences with mistakes in my orders. On one remarkable visit I had placed my order and witnessed an employee scolding another employee right in front of me about giving me too much food. Amazing! On another occasion they were out of ribs. Huh? A BBQ place with no ribs? Not surprising since it's obvious no one cares. This was 3 hours before closing time! I was assured that the boneless ribs were great substitute. Ordered a pound and a half. Got it home to discover a container filled with watery slop. It seems they were also nearly out of boneless ribs so decided to charge me $12 a pound for pork drippings. Also got a half chicken. Undercooked rubbery and tasteless. This was my final visit. While you're waiting for your food take a close look at the place and be amazed by the filthy conditions. I frankly can't imagine how the local health department doesn't fine them. Truly sad to see such potential wasted. These folks are just going though the motions of running a restaurant. There is no passion. Don't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been a frequent customer of Curtās and continued to support the business even after previously finding plastic in my ribs (without being offered a refund at the time). Despite that experience, we kept returning because we truly enjoyed the food.
Unfortunately, our most recent visit on 8/20 may be the last. When ordering, I requested a boneless rib platter with mac and cheese, along with fries and smoked cheese sauce. While the cheese sauce was not to my taste, the bigger issue was the interaction at the register. The individual who took my order gave me an unprofessional and disrespectful attitude, including glaring looks that made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. My boyfriend even had to clarify what I was saying, despite the fact that I was communicating clearly.
As a loyal customer, I did not expect to be treated in such a dismissive manner. Respect and courtesy should be part of the customer experience, especially from a business that has had our continued support through past mistakes. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will likely not be returning.
I have no doubt in my mind it was the son of the owner who spoke to me this way. I really didnāt appreciate the snarky looks and attitude because you donāt understand the English...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I have been hearing great things about this place for years so today on our way home from Bald Eagle State Park we decided to try it. It was so disgusting! My husband ordered a half rack of ribs and pulled pork, baked beans, and cole slaw. I ordered a small stromboli because I was excited to try the wood oven pizza. My husband's ribs were okay, nothing to brag about. I've had better ribs made at home. The cole slaw tasted funky, it was really sour. The pulled pork was mush, basically baby food. The best park was the beans, but even they weren't anything spectacular. My stromboli was gross and so burnt that I couldn't even eat it. The meat inside of the stromboli was like the mush pulled pork. I asked for sauce and they charged us extra for it after we had already paid for our order. The decor and atmosphere are hideous! It's not at all kid/family friendly. The employees had really nasty attitudes and were not hygienic! I saw one guys rub his nose with his bare hands and then box up my stromboli, yuck!!!!! I definitely will NOT be back! I really do not recommend going here. It's expensive and the food is crap! If you want an amazing BBQ place, go to Acme in...
