I have been coming here for quite some time now and have enjoyed my experience here so far. As other mentioned before, the wait time can take a bit long if you're ordering in person, so I've been making it a habit to call in my orders, especially at Hawaiian BBQ places.
Let's start with the location and outer shell of the establishment (which is technically the whole thing because it is primariily a to-go restaurant, with a few outdoor seating selections). 626 Hawaiian BBQ is really easy to see from every vantage point. It sits in the front of a parking lot right next to a convenience store. There isn't to much to mention in terms of the store itself except for the fact that it seems like a Weinerschnitzel without the bright colors. This of course doesn't bother me at all because what matters is the heart and soul of the restaurant.
I always seem to order to same thing here but I am a creature of habit. I get the Chicken Combo (BBQ Chicken and Chicken Katsu) with a large 626 Milk Tea. The Chicken Combo is delicious but the reason why I did knock it down a star is the balance of proportions. There is literally barely any veges and mac, and ALOT of meat. This is normally a good thing for most customers but I need a balance in terms of proportions as the abundance of the protein can be heavy and overwhelming.
The 626 Milk Tea is just a regular black milk tea. What pops out about the 626 Milk Tea and all of their drinks in general is the insanely cheap prices of these drinks they are around $2-$3 for each drink which is actually quite rare in the SGV. Not only is it cheap but it is also decent.
The place definitely has a place in my heart and I will be continuing to come here because of the great customer service, delicious and affordable food and drinks.

Read moreI ordered the Moco Loco and fried shrimp plate, through Uber Eats.
Moco Loco - The hamburger patties tasted like they were from a frozen package, were over cooked, rubbery and NOT savory, as advertised. At least some salt & pepper would have added some savory taste. The eggs were waaaay over cooked, almost burned, very rubbery and also not seasoned. In my experience, eggs on a Moco Loco should be cooked over easy or over medium so that the yolk is runny. I had to throw away the eggs and make my own eggs. The rice was very sticky and again no seasoning! The only part of the dish that had flavor was the gravy, but even the gravy tasted like it can from a can. also in my experience, usually the gravy has a slight pineapple, ginger and onion taste. I ordered the Moco Loco with a side salad, which was VERY disappointing. Just several leaves of lettuce. Plain leaves of lettuce with a side of dressing does NOT make a salad. At least add some sliced tomatoes and red onion!
Fried Shrimp Plate - The fried shrimp plate was a little better, but tasted like the shrimp had been in the freezer for a long time. The fried shrimp plate also came with macaroni salad, but a more appropriate name would mayonnaise with macaroni.
This restaurant needs to invest in some seasonings, some fresh and seasoned hamburger patties and shrimp, instead of frozen packaged food.
I would not recommend this restaurant and give it 1 star, based on...
Read moreThere is limited parking that can be found at the back of this lot. There are some tables at the front where you can sit and eat at. I ordered a Honey Green Milk Tea with boba which wasn't too bad. The honey and tea taste were surprisingly strong in my drink and the boba was sweet and chewy, this was definitely worth the price.
I also ordered a Mini BBQ Chicken plate that was around $7, There was about 2 and a half pieces of chicken in my plate. The pieces were fairly thin and one small piece was mainly just fried chicken skin. The chicken was pretty flavorful, tender, and not burned or overly dry. This plate also comes with one scoop of rice and macaroni salad. Overall, for the price and the taste it was just alright. Would come back to lunch if I was reallly craving some...
