Loose Moose Saloon — Restaurant in Baldwin

Google needs to change their star review system for this place. The staff would win a whopping - 10 stars!!!

We sat for over an hour after ordering without getting any food.

Finally, waitress said she needed to take our order again after she had reassured us on NUMEROUS occasions that our food would be “right up”

When we said no that this was ridiculous, the waitress blamed the other waitress for being new and “messing up the table numbers”

When she saw we were still not happy, she asked if we wanted to talk to a manager.

We said yes. She just stood at the table looking at us. She, then, told us there wasn’t a manager on the property.

Are you kidding me? What was the point of asking us ? !?

I told my partner let’s go, and that I will never set foot in there ever again!

The waitress had the nerve to say “I am sorry but I am new, also. I don’t know what do you want me to do about it?”

YOUR JOB sweetie!

Is it so insane that I would think that she should have been the one who realized there was something wrong with our order?

Mind you we are talking about the same person who took our order as well as all the tables who got there after us BUT got their food before us (in HER section.)

Seriously a complete LACK of responsibility! Complete lack of service! Complete lack of respect !

My question is “what did she want US to do about it?” Put on an apron, take our own order, and take it back to the cook, and bring it back to our table for her?

Cheap drinks. The enviroment is very smokey. I mean smog cloud smokey. The staff is hit or miss. Sometimes they are friendly and sometimes they have attitude. (I haven't had one give me attitude personally but I have sure witnessed some rude interactions with others). If you know the bartender you will get a drink easily on busy nights otherwise you will be skipped over until a regular guest feels bad for you and flag them down for you. Had one make eye contact then purposefully avoided the corner I was in. And again the regular told me not to worry that she was new, very slow, didn't know how to make drinks and tries not to serve certain type people because of their tipping habits. Not sure what "type" of people he was referring to, but I apparently fit the description. Finally someone flagged down a bartender (happened to be the new one) she apologized that it took me more than 20 min to get a drink. Which made me feel worse because it almost proved she was avoiding me with hopes that someone else would wait on me. Because during that same time several people walked straight to the bar and ordered a drink from the same bartender. I ordered some beers to go and a shot for my nerves. I only left 25% instead of doubling the check (100% tip) because the service was so horrible. Nonetheless, I will be back just because its walking distance and the drinks are...

Loose Moose is an odd place, and I can understand that some will love it while others hate it. The good points include inexpensive drink specials ($2 for anything during happy hour and there's usually a $2 beer special at other hours as well) and tasty inexpensive food specials including 25 cent wings on Mondays, and $1 burgers on Tuesdays. The food isn't spectacular, but it's good on par with places like Eat'n Park. The wings are better than average, cooked perfectly to a crunchy golden brown and moist inside. "Moose sauce" or garlic parm are good choices. One of the quirky things about Loose Moose is that they don't have any draft beer, only bottles, but the bottle selection is good with a wide variety of domestic, imported and craft beers. Later in the evening Loose Moose takes on a party atmosphere, much like bars you'd find in New Orleans, Fort Lauderdale, or Tijuana. As in these places you'll see things like waitresses with trays of shots in test tubes and a good-time crowd fills the place. The staff, especially the bartenders are very friendly and clearly care about their patrons.
