We have eaten here many times and it was always very good. We have a horse ranch an hour away and stopped by to have dinner. I always ordered the Halibut which was always exceptional. This time when I ordered it, it was 1/2 the portion. It was probably 4oz compared to it was at least 8-10oz many times before. (I have pictures of my past Halibut dinners). I took one bite and immediately knew it was frozen. It was soggy, and had no taste. What the chef did, he defrosted the fish (microwave) and pan fried it. (I know all about fresh fish, I also live in CARMEL CA where my fisherman friends would catch the best Monterey Bay Salmon, Halibut, Calamari, Dungeness Crab and more). So the server came by to check on us. I told her about the Halibut and said she would have the chef make a new one. I had a feeling it was going to be like the first one and OH BOY, I was right. It was absolutely appalling!!! I told the server to tell the Chef not to prepare it to other customers but I know he’s still going to do it. $34.00 for a small piece of Frozen Halibut is outrageous. We decided to leave and not order any dinner. I also didn’t like that I got charged for a side salad which goes with the dinner. Super LAME!!!!!!!!!!
I told all my friends and neighbors to go to the EDGEWATERS instead. You still get amazing views of the ocean, plus FRESH and tasty portions of...
Read moreWe were staying close by and cold & tired from the trip. Our Inn told us they were close and gave us a menu. The menu had no prices. TO FAULT OF MINE I should have asked when I called our order in sadly I didn’t. 1st I do want to say the staff was kind. The restaurant was cute ( not romantic or real fancy) but cute and cleaned. For it is across the street from Ocean but at night couldn’t see it through window, But I was there to p/u not awe the view. Sadly I Paid for the view too I guess. The cost of our Dishes were approx. 30.00 each , sadly for the cost We feel it wasn’t worth this price. The ginger shrimp was good but Not Wow and the seafood platter, did taste better than the ginger shrimp dish But it was more like having a appetizer plate due to the Small amount of each. The blanket Hailbit was tastie as long as you made sure you added the juices at the bottom of our To go tray.( only change was instead of veggies we asked for the rice, rice was tastie but needed a little something) All in all sadly we won’t return as long as prices remain so high. We haceeatten at Many Top restaurants On the coast often from Washington to California , have paid 30.00 plus but these places out did tonight’s in every way. We Hardly ever to reviews but in this case We just wanted others to know they are just to costly for what you get and...
Read moreReally friendly staff. You need masks to enter, and they take your temperature at the door (thermal scanning "gun"), but you can take off your mask once sitting at your table. Beautiful views of the ocean from nearly every table upstairs due to how they designed the building. The food was not cheap, but honestly worth more than we paid for it. The chef did an excellent job of cooking everything perfectly, which is difficult with seafood. No rubbery calamari! The flavors and textures were nicely contrasting but complimentary. The seafood combination is way more food than it looks like. We split it between the two of us, with crab cake appetizers, and were plenty full. Our only small complaints: the crab cakes were a bit small, and only two, for $21, and the "remoulade" served with it is far too strongly-flavored and would overpower the flavor of the crab, so we just scraped it off. The clam chowder is... Ok. Not bad, but tiny pieces of clams, and about a 4:1 ratio of potatoes to clams. Nothing special. Lastly, if you're boasting about your gorgeous views, you should probably keep your windows clean (this could possibly be a factor of Covid. Maybe their window person was affected?) Overall, so happy that I will still happily give them 5 stars despite the small issues, and would happily come back and...
