We were a group of 8 visiting Bardstown ,from Arizona, on the Bourbon Trail and we were looking for a place to watch the Super Bowl. Uncle Spoony is usually closed on Sunday nights but they graciously accepted our reservation and stayed open for the game. Uncle Spoony and Keisha treated us like family and welcomed us with true southern hospitality. We stuck to football watching finger food of wings, hush puppies, fried shrimp..etc. The food was very good, the wings were INCREDIBLE! Down home cooking that’s legit and absolutely incredible. Just walking inside I’m greeted with the same wonderful smells I remember from my own grandmother’s kitchen, and a taste to match in the food that comes out to you. Takes me back and makes me happy every time.

UPDATE: We hired Uncle Spoony’s for a catering job, and they were fantastic! A week later and we’re still getting compliments on how good the food was and how friendly, welcoming, and professional they were. Considering their catering prices beat everyone around and they made sure of it - you just can’t go wrong...

Its hard to put into words my experience here. I was hosting a gathering in Bardstown and needed to arrange Tue night dinner. It was only by luck that I found Uncle Spoony and his place. He agreed to close off the bar for our event and provide the catering. It was outstanding! All the food was great but one thing to note is the fried chicken we ate that night. I have never had chicken that good in my life! It wasnt any kind of secret recipe but was all about the preparation. And our dealings with Uncle Spoony didn't stop there.
