Coming back after being closed for one month, we actually forgot how hard we work at Island Cafe and Grill. But we will do it again and again because we love ❤️ our customers! Thanks to everyone who came in today on our reopening day 🥳🥳🥳 We can’t wait to see everyone again soon. We miss y’all 🥰 . #capecod #restaurantlife #islandvibes #hyannis #yarmouth #foodstagram #fyp

A bit of the Caribbean right here on the Cape, if you have a hunkering for some great jerk chicken, curried goat , red snapper or slow braised oxtail , this is the place to go. My oxtail was delicious with a sweet savory home cooked broth that reminded you of Sunday dinner that your mom would make.. the tangy slaw with a wonderful Caribbean vinaigrette was truly outstanding and would be a reason alone to come here. Plantains and rice are simply prepared. Keniqua our waitress explained there would be a delay for the oxtail as we were there during Sunday brunch.. but it was worth it. My husband got the Wicked breakfast with the coconut French toast. It was served with syrup and a homemade fresh berry compote. It was a great take on a standard and a must try. This is a family owned business that makes you feel like you were invited to their home in the Caribbean with the convenience of being right here in Hyannis! I will be going back to try the goat and red snapper, yum!

Not many breakfast spots in this area, but of the limited options, it's worth coming here. We had a 20-minute wait for our party of 6, but once seated we felt sincere customer service. Very pleasant staff and efficient too. The food was amazing, cooked with island and we enjoyed it. We had a combo of both Jamaican favorites and all-time American eats and no disappointment. The local juice options were tasty as well. Not a big dining room but comfy seating and even a private room I saw for any private dining needs. I highly recommend this spot and for sure will go back if I'm in the area. Parking seems ok but maybe not a lot on a busy day.

Who DOESNT KNOW HOW TO FRY EGGS?! Basic Frying Eggs! The eggs were showered in oil, you could not taste the flavor of the eggs. The Grits were from a box of "QUICK" Grits, with a MICROWAVE cooking time of 5 minutes, with STALE cheddar cheese on top. The WHOLE-WHEAT TOAST, was STALE BREAD. The CORNBEEF HASH was from cans, that were later fried in a skillet. The WORST BREAKFAST IVE EVER HAD, in my LIFE! NEVER AGAIN. It was AGAINST my better judgement, as I know where to get the BEST BREAKFAST on the CAPE, but chose to try a restaurant where I already had a BAD report (not posted) on a prior meal. I AM A HUGE SUPPORTER of Small neighborhood businesses. This one needs a NEW CHEF. Overall the staff was good, except they took a while to check on patrons. "Hospitality 101". The Ambience is good, although I rushed out before checking out the restroom facilities. No pictures this time; they were such nice accommodating people, I never wanted to even hint, at being a food critic, but this was BAD! Againe, who screws up EGGS?! Who serves orange juice with ICE? Primarily Tropicana (supermarket bought, or bulk shopping). The PRICE was OUTRAGEOUS! In the tourism industry it's called "Tourist Trap"; the Cape during the summer has a vibrant tourism industry, from housing bed & breakfast to hotels, air bnb, Vrbo etc. Accommodations are usually booked way in advance, so the "Tourist Trap", is not as lucrative and vibrant. However restaurants can trap the tourist like lobster traps, during season. The eggs washed in oil, might have been "Stale Oil", cause I had diarrhea all day, or rather from 11AM when I had breakfast until 4:30PM EST. These were some of the NICEST MOST HOSPITABLE PEOPLE (except for my waitress, who seemed unhappy). These were some subpar service of my waitress, has NOTHING TO DO with my FOOD REVIEW. Maybe it wasn't a good day for the waitress. I doubt it that she told the chef, to shower my eggs with oil, so I couldn't taste the flavor, or serve me microwaved quick grits. It took a while for me to get my meal, but I have no evidence that my waitress tried...

Earlier this week, my husband and I were driving home early in the morning from work. Being breakfast lovers, we started a Google search for a great spot to eat. The Island Cafe and Grill popped up as highly rated, so we decided to give it a try.

Sometimes, when you walk into a restaurant, you get the feeling that the staff and owners aren’t particularly happy to see you. That was absolutely not the case here. The moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with warm smiles all around, making us feel welcome and comfortable right away.

The atmosphere is cute and cosy, with tables spaced comfortably apart. There’s also a full bar with seating for dining and drinks. We didn’t ask if they serve Bloody Marys or mimosas for breakfast, but it’s something to check out next time!

My husband ordered the Jamrock Steak and Eggs so named for the Jamaican-inspired menu. He said the skirt steak was delicious, and the potatoes were large-cut cubes—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. So good! I had the Greek omelet, which is usually my go-to choice, and it was perfect. I absolutely loved the potatoes.

And because I saw it on the menu and just couldn’t resist, we split a side of coconut French toast. I had expected it to be immersed in coconut milk, but it was topped with flaky coconut, and came with both a berry compote and maple syrup. I really enjoyed it, and it satisfied my sweet craving! Sorry I have no photos, next time!

There are all types of food options on the menu, with many Jamaican options, from Jerk Chicken, Oxtail or curried goat, and the Jerk Chicken Alfredo sounds delicious. There are many options such as fish snd chips and other seafood meals and burgers. Check out their full menu!

Lastly, our server Clarissa was lovely, attentive and so friendly. She made our breakfast perfect! We...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Island cafe & Bar , and I can confidently say it was one of the best experiences I’ve had in a long time!

Food (5/5): Every dish was a masterpiece. From the first bite to the last, the flavors were rich, fresh, and perfectly balanced. The ingredients were clearly high-quality, and the presentation was stunning. Whether you’re a fan of classic comfort food or adventurous flavors, their menu has something for everyone. I highly recommend.

Service (5/5): The service was impeccable. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. Our server was knowledgeable, attentive without being intrusive, and had great recommendations. The little details, like checking in at the right moments and remembering special requests, really made a difference.

Atmosphere (5/5): The ambiance was perfect—warm, inviting, and stylish. Whether you’re here for a romantic dinner, a celebration, or just a casual night out, the setting elevates the experience. The lighting was just right, the décor was thoughtfully designed, and even the background music added to the relaxed yet sophisticated vibe.

Overall, Island Cafe&Bar is a gem! If you’re looking for a top-tier dining experience with incredible food, outstanding service, and a beautiful atmosphere, this is the place to be. I can’t...
