A cute diner in Barnwell, SC that pays tribute to all of Barnwell County in its menu and decor. It is so obvious that the owners really put a lot into the renovations. The booths and tables were so nice, and the bathrooms were the cleanest I've ever seen in Barnwell County.
We ordered the Sweetwater, the chicken wrap, the Salkehatchie, and two small baskets of fries. Everything was wonderful, and the portion sizes were like Goldilocks--just right. The fries were fried to perfection and seasoned well. I love that the sandwiches are named after all of Barnwell County, not just Barnwell. It was also exciting to see that it is open on Sunday. While we were there, a few people got shakes and they looked delicious. They were served in the old-school milkshake glasses, and I appreciate that they retained the old ice cream/pharmacy counter. We didn't have room for milkshakes this trip, but we will...
Read moreLove the look and atmosphere of this little restaurant. Service was friendly and fast. Food was hot and fresh. They offer a gluten free bun but I think it’s UDIs which is the most crumbly gluten free bun out there I ended up not even eating it because it was falling apart. The burger was good though even without a bun. The chips were delicious and the milkshakes were very good too, served in a lovely milkshake glass. I ordered a chocolate shake with chocolate chips- however after drinking half of it I discovered it was chocolate with Oreos when a bit of unchopped Oreo came through the straw. I have a wheat allergy. I immediately took benedryl but today my body is inflamed and joints aching. The drinks are served in retro glasses as well which makes for a fun meal. Overall this is a great restaurant and I’d visit again when passing...
Read moreThis has honestly been one of the best experiences at a little old-school diner. We're in town for an airsoft event and stayed at the lofts next door to here- (we've been waiting all weekend to be able to stop in.) The staff has been phenomenal. Each one, including the cook, has come over and asked if we needed anything and how our food was. One lady made a point on her way out to come over and thank us for visiting and left with a "have a safe, blessed night." The food was great, btw!! The homemade sodas, pie, and shakes were great, too. To whomever owns this little joint, you have an awesome crew and should definitely be proud of them. We look forward to visiting...
