SOMBREROS MEXICAN GRILL BARNWELL — Restaurant in Barnwell

We have visited this place at least 40+ times, they use to be good but not anymore… we have watched it decline. The owner is UNREAL & cheap. I ordered a taco salad .. it got to me & had ONE TEASPOON of hamburger in it rest was beans & lettuce. Yuck for $12. I told the waiter right away. I had not eaten any of it… she could see it was a bare taco shell. I asked her to ask them to add more hamburger please.. she went to the back room where the owner was. She came out & said do you want something else? No! Just add a lil more hamburger please. What I’m paying for… a taco salad, not a bean salad. She went to the kitchen & did. I saw her come out & show the owner, getting his approval on a scoop of hamburger!!!! Never again. We’ve been hearing about the owner cutting rice & all back on the customers. The cheapest of things! Greed gets you no where. We won’t be back. The Mexican restaurant by Walmart is WAY better & they feed you!!! Not save Pennie’s on your dollars!...

It's like a family atmosphere, people aren't afraid to talk to one, it's like a family atmosphere which is very pleasant the lady had asked me what I was eating and I told her and she's like can I try the cactus I was like sure no problem I gave her a piece she said it was a little bit slimy the texture but she's not used to eating cactus it's very good, I told her if they made it a little bit but if you're not used to eating cactus then you just have to keep trying it until it's cooked the way you and that's something you'll learn on your own me personally I like it a little thicker than what they serve it and with more spices on it not necessarily hot but more spices with a little bit of zest in it but I would still give it a 100. I have been here twice. I honestly don’t think I will be going back. The waitress never comes back to the table the entire time I’m there until I’m ready to leave. On first visit my grand daughter never got her food then they wanted to fix it once we were readi to leave and of course I said no bc who wants to wait longer. The second visit they forgot my food and forgot half of my grand daughter's food. It’s really ashame they never got it right in two visits. I’ve been a waitress and there’s no excuse for this...
