Chinese Palace Restaurant — Restaurant in Barrington Township

I normally love this place but I order like we usually do.. I tell them very easy spice on 2 of the dinner and the other normal spice.. Instead all 3 are super hot. My daughter and I couldn't even eat ours.. I called the owner and she see what we ordered, she tells me to hold on while she talks to the person who made it and comes back pretty saying it's my fault.. She tells me I should of order no spice and have them put a extra container of spicy on the side.. How is this my fault since this is how I always ordered it for the past 15+ years.. She then tells me I can only reimburse you for one not 2. Not sure if I'll be ordering again from there. It's so sad that a place we love is blaming us for it being super spicy not her cook, plus we live 40 mins from there so it wasn't a option to take it back and she probably would make 2 new ones anyway.. I ordered delivery and was very happy they delivered to my job. I originally ordered Szechwan Beef lunch special & and pot stickers. I ended up with chicken insted. It looked delicious, but my favorite is beef. I called, and the nice young lady was quick to rectify the mistake. Even though it was past lunch special time. They made a new one and brought it right to me! The food is delicious. I look forward to trying more food from this restaurant. SUPPORT LOCAL

My 2nd meal a week later, I decided to try Orange Chicken Lunch Special. It comes with an option of fried rice or white. You see, which I chose in both pictures. The special comes with an egg roll & free pop. I love me some potstickers and always order them. Here is amazing. The Orange Chicken didn't disappoint! Very flavorful. Lots of chicken and rice for under $11....

I didn't have a menu in front of me when I ordered, and the man on the phone was very helpful in picking out a chicken and vegetable dish for my husband. However, I originally asked if they had pad thai chicken and he said no but then asked if we wanted noodles with the chicken dish and I said that would be great. The noodles that they gave us were nothing like pad thai noodles, they were very thin and fried to the point they were inedible (and my husband eats just about anything). The chicken dish itself was very bland and watery. The szechuan beef had good flavor (quite sweet though), but again the sauce was watery and the beef pieces were too big and chewy. I also ordered 2 egg rolls and instead of just giving them to us for free, they charged us for 2 and gave us 2 for free. Not sure if we'll ever order...
