There are other choices, try Blue Kangaroo or Coffee Depot in Warren, both 5 stars Myself and numerous other no longer step foot in this Dunkin
The restroom in Barrington Dunkin is now locked, the key is on a heavy 10 inch Crescent Wrench and even if you are a 20 year customer, a 70 year old disabled Veteran with a 70 year old Bladder, they make you order before they give you the key. Saying the the bathroom is only for customers. Like after 20 years of coming there (the staff person has been there for at least 2 years of that) my friend was there just for the bathroom???
Just this past weekend the Manager comes at my seated Disabled Veteran 70 year old neighbor in what appeared as a threatening manner yelling at him and accusing him of swearing at her staff, and said that "we don't like you, no one likes you, you are always making trouble, we don't want you here" (or words close to that). It was a terrible situation that in my opinion was brought on by the manager.
Another time I observed a server accidently spill hot coffee over the counter missing a baby by inches who was sitting in a carrier on the floor against the counter next to his mother. He didn't apologize and doesn't even comp the coffee, makes the mother pay for it.
Another neighbor who has been going to this place for over 20 years accidently spilled his coffee before he even got a chance take a sip, he didn't want to ask for a replacement so I asked for a free replacement, they complained and said "I didn't spill it" but finally replaced it for free, reluctantly. We went back to our table and talked between ourselves about how this staff was not customer friendly, especially to the senior citizen Veterans (some of us wear ball caps with our branch of service). We then hear the Duncan staff from behind the counter badmouthing us.
Another friend told me that he saw a man (who he didn't know) complain to the staff that he was still waiting for his coffee, the manager yelled at him " you order here and pick up your coffee over there!!! Read moreJanelle and team are fabulous! They have kept me in coffee and donuts for a construction crew at my home for the last month. By day 3 they had my order down pat and if I rang ahead, always a good idea for a Box Of Joe, all was ready and waiting. Janelle and team are highly organized, extremely efficient, and most importantly they are always genuine, concerned and lovely to deal with. And this is with all clients! On a busy morning you can catch someone at the coffee station, rather hidden from view, call out a " good morning" to clients coming in. Watching customer faces it is clear this is appreciated as they seek out the source of the voice with an inquisitive smile. " Regulars" abound and at the counter are met with " the usual?". Often the coffee is ready to go even as they come to the register! Regulars fill tables each morning and it is clear staff and clients enjoy the dynamic. The positive, welcoming and friendly tone the staff sets is clear and it pervades the space. Clients in the queue are happy and kind to one another, a rarity these days. I don't know how Janelle manages all this as she dashes at a constant full speed, but she does! And clearly she has created a powerful and positive dynamic for staff and clients. Place was empty when I arrived so I was helped immediately which is the only positive thing I can say. My sandwich after being made was thrown on to the side counter and turns out mess and some how undercooked. I then waited patiently off to the side because they got very busy quickly for my coffee. After four customers placed and received their orders I walked up to the counter and finally was asked if I needed something. I stated that I hadn’t received my coffee and was met with a questioning look and being told that they made it…I didn’t have it and they looked at me like I was hiding it somewhere. The employees finally found my coffee over by the online pick up window and they gave it to me. With my coffee and sandwich in hand I went and grabbed a straw and made my way to the door only to over hear the two employees condescendingly commenting about me standing there “staring” as I waited for my order in front of a full line of customers. I bit my tongue and left. This was One of the most unpleasant experiences I’ve had at a Dunkin’ Donuts. The unprofessionalism and incompetence at this location is absolutely unreal, and to talk negatively about a customer at all. Never mind while they’re in earshot is absolutely absurd.
