My coworkers and I made it a tradition to go to Bistro Byronz together at least 2 to 3 times a month as a group. The service is usually really great as well as the food. Even some of the waitresses recognize us when we come in and know our names. Unfortunately this time, my coworker and I went there for lunch today and did not receive the welcoming service we usually get. The host at the stand seemed to barely recognize we were there. Very unfriendly. We came in early to try to beat the crowd. We received our appetizer, which was great and the reason I rated a 2 star. After that, it was not good. We didn't receive any refills at all. We both ordered salads and after almost 2 hours, our food still didn't arrive. We watched as others that came in after us receive and eat their hot meals as we waited, and waited. I finally stopped the waitress and asked her to give us our salads to go. When we got to work to finish eating, the salads were TERRIBLE! My lettuce was BROWN and not fresh. My coworker ordered a pasta salad. She said it had too much lettuce to be a pasta salad. She was sad and told me she was disappointed in her meal. We only have certain days we go out to lunch together, so it's usually considered special. But not this time. We both ended up throwing away our salads. $30 wasted. The experience was so bad, I'm not sure if this place will be our tradition anymore. Very...
Read moreWith so many great restaurants in Mid-City, I’m not sure why you would go to one that just microwaves food. I used to go back for the blue cheese chips, but after my experience today I won’t be going back.
I ordered the hericot verts side, which I have had in the past when they actually cooked the food, and it was great. These were clearly raw, thrown in a microwave, and sprinkled with paprika. After one bite, I alerted the waiter that they were just awful and asked if I could get another side instead. He said sure! He took them away and gave me a side salad as requested.
Of course, the bill came and both sides were on there. I alerted him and he said “Well did you take a bite?” Uh...yeah...how else would I have known... “our policy is if you take a bite you have to pay for it”.
Seriously! For one, that’s a terrible policy. Secondly, he could have told me that when I sent it back and asked for something else. He then followed it up “yes, we have gotten many complaints about that item and have been meaning to take it off the menu”. Talk about adding insult to injury!
It’s not as if this was a $30 steak, it was a $4 side! Just take it off the bill! And now you have lost a customer. Not good business guys... Please do better. I will not...
Read moreNot sure what happened to Bistro Byronz, but the food and service is just not as good like they used to be. We frequently visited the old location on Government St., so we were excited when they were re opening close by. We dined 02/24/2022 with 8 of us and we were all a little disappointed. Not sure if the server was new or just nervous, but he forgot to take an order and my family member had to stop the server from leaving before taking his order. My other family member’s steak wasn’t cook like requested and he ordered potatoes instead of green beans, but I guess they ran out of potatoes so they just assumed he wanted green beans. The server knew about not having potatoes and blew it off and just kind of shrugged his shoulders. He told my family member that they just gave him green beans without asking. I thought that was weird? Why wouldn’t you ask if they wanted another side? One person in the party ordered chicken and biscuit dumplings and he said it was too mushy and needed more flavor. Everyone in my party said the food was very mediocre. The food wasn’t awful, but we do wish we went somewhere else. The best part of the meal was the king cake bread pudding. That was very delicious. The restaurant is clean and the outside...
