Not good for families with small children, was disrespected, embarrassed, and lied to over policies.
Update: Shortly after venting my frustrations on Facebook the owner reached out to my wife and said that he'd be in touch in the next day to make things right. Granted, I didn't want free food, I wanted to pay for my food without their management harassing my toddler. Nonetheless, we're going on about a month and have not heard back from him. It's sad, they were one of our favorite places I'm town, but I'm not subjecting my family to their rude management again.
We went in for lunch today with our daughter. Despite our best efforts she's three and prefers a McDonald's Happy Meal, something we've brought into the restaurant dozens of times in the past with no issue. Today, after ordering our food, we're stopped by a manager and told they can't have outside food in the restaurant per health code violations.
Really? We've done this dozens of times, since you've opened. Also, that's convenient, I know a health inspector... Let me get her on the phone. Her response "lol. No."
After making entirely too big of a scene about this all, the manager finally offers to let Robin eat her happy meal on a tray, but only after lying to us for 5 minutes and embarrassing us in front of the restaurant.
I realize that restaurants have this policy because they want you to buy their food, but this is a toddler we're talking about, and I don't know a toddler parent around that doesn't live with this struggle. Two burger combos at Curbsode are $30,by the way. We've easily spent over $1000 here since their opening, not to mention the free advertising they get from us in the form of likes and shares online.
The long story short here is that this was not a health code violation. This was a manager wanting to be a jerk to a toddler and outright lying to justify it.
Just sharing this for all of the toddler parents in Baton Rouge. Their burgers may be good, but their customer service is awful, and they don't want your business, and I won't give them anymore of mine.
What makes me upset more than anything is that we were loyal customers, but they'd rather lose $30 today and thousands over the course of their business over a picky toddler and a...
Read more3/5/24 came for another visit. Got my favorites. And yes, they're every bit as good as they look. Hot, fresh, right and hits the spot every time. Of course the staff is ultra friendly, too! Thanks for another great lunch!
Nuggets, then tots, then burger reviewed.
The Korean chicken nuggets are the best overall chicken item in the entire city. Large, succulent, juicy, perfectly cooked and season chunks of all white chicken meat with the perfect crunchy coating and flavorful sweet sauce topped with sesame seeds. A bright pop of green contributed by the accompanying lime wedge makes this dish come alive. This is the best dish on the entire menu, hands down. The price point is at that sweet spot of affordable and let's order two. Curbside knocked this out of the park.
The plain nuggets were just... okay. The same juicy and scrumptious chicken as above, just too naked. The seasoning was very plain and mild, good for picky kids, but nothing to write home about.
The Nashville Hot is only that. I enjoy spicy foods, but these are just tossed in a cayenne and paprika blend. The powdery coat is unpleasant and takes away from the chicken entirely and was so caked in powder that it kind of felt like a new take on the cinnamon challenge. It would be cool to see their take on a Buffalo sauce or a Louisiana style or even seasoning in the wet batter, because the Nashville was just bad.
Tots are, unlike most places, perfectly crunchy. I've had then with a couple different toppings and I'm never disappointed. Always piping hot, these tots have a perfect crunch and don't sog down too quickly under the available sauces or with ketchup. 10/10 best tots in town, with very creative tot offerings.
Unlike a vast majority of other folks, I don't care for their burgers. They're not bad, I just have had ones I thought were way better elsewhere. I know I am in the minority here because they have consistently gotten best in BR, but I feel like atmosphere, location and the fabulous staff are being considered too and not only the burger.
Tldr: Get the Korean nuggs and some tots. The burgers are just okay. The atmosphere is fun. The employees are awesome. Avoid the...
Read moreLet me begin by stating the burger and fries were excellent. I went to Curbside for the first time yesterday. I'd searched for best burgers in B.R. and had seen great reviews. I ordered online, was provided an estimated time for pickup. Upon arrival into the dinery, I noticed signage indicating To Go orders picked up at bar. I went to the bar and stood at the counter. There were 4 employees at the bar 1 female with blonde straight hair was off to the side talking with a patron, two men and a female were behind the bar having conversation amongst one another. I stood at the bar waiting to be greeted and/or acknowledged so I could get the food I'd ordered. Every person working at the bar saw me and simply ignored and did not acknowledge me. One guy with long hair and facial hair was eating what appeared to be gummies of some sort out a cup, he looked at me multiple times and continued speaking with his coworkers. The other guy had tattoos and what appeared as some sort of skin irritation on his arms and he glanced back as well. It was as if they all were avoiding me. The other female, she had blonde wavyish hair and kept her back turned to me the entirety of the time I was standing at the bar and at some point stormed off. I heard one of them all with their backs turned ask one another "are they together"? I suppose speaking about me and another black man who'd entered before me, who was standing several feet away from me. The blonde straight hair girl was near the corner of the bar when the patron she was talking with asked me "have you been helped, are you waiting" as I'd been standing there several minutes. He then directed his attention to the group behind the bar...the woman he was speaking with acted like they should not be bothered, keep in mind she hadn't offered any assistance up to this point either. After the man she was speaking with mentioned something of my standing there being ignored by her and her coworkers, she asked my name. My food had been sitting behind the bar the entirety of the time i was standingat the bar. I felt humiliated. I took my...
