La Carreta Mid City — Restaurant in Baton Rouge

I ordered the Chicken Nachos. It had been about a year since I had been there but I use to eat there a lot. First, It was like I was invisible, waitresses kept walking by me and pretty much not even looking at me. I sat there for a full 15 minutes before I got up to go tell the Hostess what was happening. There was no one else to tell! Finally, one came. So the Manager brings me my food. (Always get the same thing) the chips were very soggy. The reason they were was because they use to put a layer of Beans first then the chips then the Quaso and everything else on the top. I looked and I didn’t see any Beans anywhere? I called the waitress to come see, lifted up the chips and all the stuff on top with my Fork, she didn’t see any either, so she brought them back to the kitchen. Came back 15 minutes later, lifted it up and I looked it was the same thing! The Management came over he looked and said you have beans under there. Y’all, I lifted up the left side of the dish there was about 3Table spoons of the thinnest, runniest beans I have ever seen! He brought me some more Beans on the side , it was awful. You could literally use a Straw to literally suck them up! I just asked for the check paid then left. I was so disappointed. I will never go back. I don’t have a lot of money to eat out so I have to choose carefully when I do it has to be something I really like, so basically I had just...

Final edit. The company finally responded, with no resolution. I was told to contact the former carrier for the gift cards. Which I did, they explained I would have to go to the business in order to rectify this. I already knew this as I'm very familiar with that syestem. So the end result is this

CLIENT PURCHASED A GIFT CARD FOR $50 AND GAVE IT TO ME FOR CHRISTMAS PREVIOUS MANAGER HAD STATED THAT HE COULD HONOR IT FOR 25 CURRENT MANAGER AND OWNER ARE STATING THEY CAN'T HONOR IT AT ALL

I HAVE TURNED THIS OVER TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU!!!!

SECOND EDIT AGAIN, BEWARE!!!!! I'VE EMAILED ALL INFORMATION THEY REQUESTED AND NO RESPONSE. THEY ARE RESPONDING TO THE REVIEWS BUT NOT FOLLOWING THROUGH WITH FIXING THE ISSUES. AS OF 9/28/25, THEY STILL HAVE THE MONEY FOR THE GIFT CARD, AND STILL HAVE NOT HONORED IT, NOR RESPONDED.

This is a warning, if you have a gift card that is on their old system, you will not be able to use it. I had a house cleaning client give me a gift card for Christmas, I am not able to use it because they've changed their gift card system. This being said, the previous manager had looked up and researched the amount on the gift card. It was $25. Was just told I cannot use that. They are not honoring their gift cards. Which means they stole $25 from my client who bought this gift...

There is no other Mexican restaurant like LA Coretta's air superb in every aspect . This one Is the best one out of all of them and they have 2 For one Margarita, That are on the rocks or frozen on the rocks is my favorite and many varieties, And to accompany them you can get an appetizer of spinach and order queso dip that is so Creamy and cheesy that you can't get enough of it.. But wait don't forget the hostess and the waiwe're very knowledgeable in what they do and always smile and try to make you as comfortable as possible through your entire dinner lunch or happy hour. Serving up sizzling fajitas and an entree of chicken and spinach with cheese on top that just melts in your mouth you could never get enough of private or there's your pull up to potly shrimp as an appetizer also. You can't beat the atmosphere inside your choice is a family oriented with great music service food and attitudes I love this Restaurant. I give my compliments to the cook because he deserves more than what he's getting paid. You are the best even though you have other branches this is the 1st and the others can not compare to the original midcity location. I tip my hat to them....Superb! Mucho...
