Honestly, I forgot to take a photo of this food because I was THAT excited to eat it. I’Ve never left a review on anything before, but Torchy’s was so incredible that I just have to.
When we walked in, we were enthusiastic greeted by both a Torchy’s team member and the team members behind the register. The initial team member greeted us, checked us in, checked our ID’s, gave us our wristbands, and told us where to proceed next. We got to the register, where we were greeted again by the team members behind the register. They answered any and all questions we had, made recommendations, and were very thorough to ensure our order was accurate. Once we ordered, they explained how we would receive our food and what to do with the pager.
Management was ON POINT. There was a manager behind the register that was giving feedback to team members on their performance. Another manager came over to us while we were sitting to check to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Management and team members were constantly walking around in the dining area to assist any guests and clean up if necessary. As I’m typing this, someone who I’m assuming is the GM, asked us how everything was, asked what we got, told us about how the food’s made—just incredibly friendly.
Cleanliness. I know this place just opened, but it is SPOTLESS. There are team members diligently cleaning all areas all the time. Everything looks and smells like perfection.
The food. I have friends from Austin who raved about this place, and I didn’t really believe the hype. I assumed this was some undeserved “In N Out” hype like you get from people on the west coast. I could not have been more wrong. The guac was incredibly fresh and tasted like it came straight from a 5 star resort in Mexico. I ordered a Trailer Park Taco, made it trashy (comes with queso) and kept the lettuce, and the Beef Fajita Taco. I couldn’t tell you which one I liked more. Fresh, quality ingredients on a handmade flour tortilla. The food was honestly incredible.
The service was impeccable. Not to mention our food came in less than ten minutes. It’s high end restaurant caliber food with the efficiency of a quick service establishment.
I ordered a Paloma, and it was fresh with a hint of spice—absolute perfection.
I literally have nothing even remotely related to a complaint about this place. Everything is fresh and made in house. I could go on forever. I never get this excited about a restaurant; The service and food are perfection, and we will definitely be coming back on a very regular basis. This beats out any Mexican...
Read moreUpdate: I filled out the customer survey on Torchy's website and was beyond impressed with how they handled it. Came back today with a gift card from Torchys and it was a MUCH better experience. We still had two Tacos that didn't have all of the toppings but when we asked one of the employees they went back and got the toppings, no problem. Tacos were definitely Damn Good this time! Queso was crazy good and the burrito was maybe one of the best I've ever had. This location may have some bumps they're working through but the company as a whole is clearly quality and worth experiencing! Thank you Torchy's for valuing the customer experience!
I would have rated this lower but there were some positives in our experience so to be fair I'm going 3 out of 5. I have been wanting to come here for over a year. Finally got a chance to come visit family here and this was my number one place to go to. Came for a late lunch, wasn't busy. Each of us ordered two Tacos then we shared chips and salsa and a side of street corn. Overall, really disappointed with our experience. The person ringing in our order seemed completely lost. We had ordered a large margarita but it came out as a small and she had rang it up as a small, whatever, no big deal. The chips and salsa had multiple options for salsa but we were never given a chance to select which one. I have no idea how they chose the salsa that they brought out but we all liked it well enough so again, no big deal. We each ordered two Tacos of various kinds and each one of us had at least one taco that was missing stuff. Two were missing avocado even though a third taco at the table did have avocado so I don't think they were just out? One was missing jalapeños and mangos so it was pretty much just chicken. Normally, I would go up and talk to someone but I had gone to the bathroom when they came out and everyone had already started eating so I didn't feel like we could really ask for them to change or remake anything. Everyone ended up feeling like the Tacos were just okay. Definitely not worth the $5 a pop we paid for them. The street corn was really good though. But when your whole slogan is "Damn Good Tacos" you probably don't want the Tacos to be the most disappointing part of your whole meal. So if you're coming here, get the margarita, even if it's the wrong size, it'll be good, get the chips and salsa because even the salsa we got stuck with was good, get the street corn and enjoy the environment. But check your Tacos before you eat them because what you read on the menu, is definitely not a promise of what will be...

Employees need better allergen training! This place is tasty and I think it’s great that they list their allergens so clearly online. However, people in the kitchen don’t seem consistently trained on allergens. For starters, I have celiac disease and cannot eat gluten. I ordered a “fried” avocado taco, which the menu says to get on a corn tortilla, sub fresh avocado for fried for it to be gluten-free, which I did. I also got a bean egg and cheese taco on corn, which had no problems. I clearly marked “gluten allergy” on everything I ordered, and this was also on my receipt to confirm. However, when I got there to pick up my order, avocado taco was on flour tortilla instead of corn. I asked the employee at the register if I could have it remade and showed her my receipt. She was extremely friendly and said she would have it remade, and she took the receipt to show the cooks my order. When she came back out with my taco, it was on a corn tortilla....but it had fried avocado instead of fresh!!! At this point I was exasperated and in a hurry, so I just threw it away instead of asking for it to be remade AGAIN.
No complaints about woman at cash register, who was extremely nice and helpful. I do wish they would do some training with the cooks to be extra careful with allergen orders and to understand what has gluten and what doesn’t. Then they might stop to think before putting fried battered avocado or a flour tortilla in an order where everything is marked...
