Stopped in for the first time on Valentine's Day. The atmosphere was nice and we were seated relatively quickly after arriving about 6:00 p.m. While business was not dead by any means I wouldn't consider them overly busy especially for it being Valentine's Day.
We ordered the bean dip, two chimichangas, fajitas, and one tamale for our dinners. The waitress was very nice and pleasant but not very attentive. I ordered a margarita which I was sorry to say was not great. I guess I would just describe it as not being very flavorful I don't know it was weird. Half of my fajita dinner was delivered very hot still sizzling in the pan. Unfortunately it was delivered about 10 minutes before the rest of the food including the rest of my fajita. The chimichangas we're odd because they were not deep fried. We were told they were but they were not crunchy at all which was disappointing. A chimichanga is supposed to be crunchy. The tamale was ok but not as good as most other places I've eaten them especially at $3 each. The fajitas, once I received the other half meaning the tortillas and condiments, was not balanced properly meaning I received three tortillas and not enough condiments for the reasonable quantity of meat and vegetables. I had to ask for three more tortillas, and the lettuce sour cream etc. was still not enough for the amount of meat and vegetable provided. The bean dip, after having to ask for it four times, what's finally delivered well into the meal so we didn't really enjoy much of the bean dip but it was quite good. Too bad it went to waste.
The meal including the margarita was just over $60 which was reasonable. I still left a $20 tip even with the subpar service. All in all I would say there was nothing to bring me back basing it on this trip. The live singer was a nice touch but the food was just okay and the service was sub par. All of this was after just my first visit. I have been going to a certain other Mexican restaurant in town for years and not had this much to be unhappy about so the choice is clear. I will probably revisit down the road sometime to give them another chance. Maybe it was an off...
Read moreIn response to some of the comments below… I understand how this place is fairly new in town and most people don’t know what goes behind opening an entire business, hence why there is still decor from the previous owner. Eventually, it will evolve. What matters most at this time is the food and customer experience. This place has some of the best, freshly prepared, homemade food here with great authentic Mexican flavor. And yes it is prepared fresh daily… not weeks old. The servers here are very friendly and are all experienced in the industry. Customer service has never been an issue in the place. Sometimes, food mix ups or mistakes on orders may happen but us as customers can kindly speak up and let the managers know in order to be accommodated for that. Overall, the place is great, food is excellent, fun ambience, owners are very knowledgeable and the best is yet to come. Alcohol is on the way 🍹🙌🏼 Yes I do recommend this restaurant and I recommend you book in advance for parties and experience the private party rooms that are able to...
