Boulder Tap House — Restaurant in Baxter

About a year ago, I left a 1* review. After the great meal we had Friday night, I knew I owed this restaurant an updated one.

Love the new/updated menu! It was definitely needed. Our favorites didn't disappear, and we're sure we've already found some new ones.

The pickle chips appetizer was good but, not what we expected. Way too much batter on the pickles. The batter didn't have much seasoning, if any. The chipotle dipping sauce was spectacular! All in all, the batter issue is something easy to fix.

Our burgers were perfect! Perfectly cooked, not greasy, full of flavor, and filling.

Also, the bartenders here know how to make a killer cocktail. I love the pomegranate mule - it is amazing, consistent, and very reasonably priced.

Our server was a bubbly, friendly, fun gal (busy as all get out, too). Yet, attentive. Really enjoyed the service she provided, as well as the server who was helping her run bar orders. Both made great impressions, for your establishment.

It was very busy when we were there - the wait for food was longer than usual. However, we enjoyed the lively atmosphere, cocktails, and didn't feel rushed!

Only bummer - the $10 off birthday coupon I had, was not applied to our final bill. Most likely, because a different server fetched our bill for us (ours was hoofing it, for tables with requests). It didn't hit me until I got home, that the total was impossible. I guess I'll be more careful...next year. In the grand scheme of things: not the biggest deal, after great food and...

The First time we were there was Memorial day weekend. It was about 9pm when we got there. We walked in and the dining room was closed, but the bar area was open. Very few people - 2 at the bar & 4 at a table. There was a bartender & several servers. We sat down & were immediately waited upon, ordering a soda & water. We chatted, the 4 people at the table received their food, the 2 people at the bar left & we were still waiting for our drinks. Finally, about 20 minutes later, our soda & water arrived. The waiter took our food order, soup, seafood Alfredo & BBQ ribs (DRY - no sauce). The soup arrived quickly & was ok. The food arrived about 15 minutes later. The seafood Alfredo was good, the ribs came with sauce on them & were ok. At this point, we weren't sending the ribs back - too hungry. During the meal, soda & water were refilled several times. The waiter brought our check & mentioned that he had removed the charge for the ribs. There was no statement/apology about why it took so long to get drinks. The waiter did not address the ribs being served with sauce, instead of dry, until we received the check. So NOT a good dining experience. We might go back, but not...

We decided to try this place for dinner this past Saturday. We had a party of 7, 4 adults and 3 kids. We arrived around 630ish, it was not busy at all. We were seated right away. Everything was going well. We were waited on right away and the food was really good, but what happened next will make us never return. We asked the waitress 3 times for a to-go box, but she never brought one. We finally asked another young lady if we could please have a box. Her exact words were "it's going to be at least 5 minutes - I have other stuff I need to do" Remind you, they were not busy at all, but we just said ok, we'll fid someone else and we did and we were given a box. About 5 minutes later, the young lady returns with a box. We told her thank you, but we found one. She literally tore the box up in front of us and then stomped her way over to the trash can and threw the box away. They need to work on their customer service skills. The food was great and we would of been back because we go to BIR right down the road for racing at least twice a month, but with that...
