El Tequila Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Baxter

Went on a date with my wife there. Had to deal with the worst service I have seen in a long while. Showed up at 8 and they close at 9:30pm. Waiter sat us by the entrance and we were the only customers in the building. Got our food and for 20 consecutive minutes I had to hear 1 of the 3 Mexican employees playing a video with what sounded like a repetitive dog sqeak toy in a phone video and the 3 of them laughing the entire time I’m trying to enjoy my meal and date. they were phone 2 booths down from us while we are our meal. The place was empty they could have sat us literally anywhere away from that annoying selfish,self centered behavior. It reminded me of something your brat child would do in an airplane the entire ride sitting behind you,ya know kicking the seat your sitting in. VERY ANNOYING. What makes this worse is that it’s a grown adult man acting and behaving that way. I spent 45 minutes looking at restaurants for my wife’s birthday and found this restaurant had 2000 4.6 star average and thought it would be a great place. I got poor service. The behavior from the waiters was less than satisfactory. Something I would have expected from a 6 year old kid with bad parents. Ruined my entire evening. Grow up. Do better. Be mindful of other people. Your a business act like it. Very self centered behavior. Surprised no one has ever put you in your place as a young boy or man acting that way. Next time when we are the only people in the restaurant maybe seat us away from you guys if your going to be bothering of us and loud and obnoxious. It’s a big enough restaurant. Do better jeez. Unfortunately, I had a disappointing night with my family as we dined at El Tequila Mexican. You see, my whole family are legally deaf, we had a waitress that had some communication difficulties due to the language barrier. There were 4 of us, and only two orders made it to the table, the two had to wait for their orders while those two orders weren't entered into the system. It seems that the waitress misunderstood us somehow but we knew she was struggling to communicate, but we felt the same way. We even typed down the order on our phone for her to read and it was still a struggle. I wished the waitress would've seeked a futher assistance from different employees who may feel comfortable and not to be afraid to show gestures for the deaf people.

It really ruined our night, once our order arrived, we only took a few bites and asked for the box and a check to get out and breath the fresh air and try to move on. I paid 90 bucks and 15 bucks tip, I was generous enough, I just hope that the waitresses out there would know when to step out and find a solution by finding other employee who have more people skills to assist communication barriers. They didn't provide any discounts for lack of services though. I told my wife, we'll come back next year and try our luck. Quite nice! We took mom out for her 79th birthday, first time out to eat in public in a very long time. It was a very nice first time out. Ambiance was spectacular, very impressed. I always like the ambiance of olive garden so I was a bit skeptical with what they would be able to do, well they changed my mind completely. It felt like a very high end mexican restaurant, not just a cheesy, colorful, lotsa sombreros, cactus & maracas kinda mexican decor kinda ambiance, it was very well done, sophisticated. The food, well the food has always been amazing mexican food. I've never been disappointed with anything I've ever gotten at their previous location. I enjoy the fact that it's not mexican food that's simply disguised with a lot of cheese, in fact I'm not sure if there was cheese on my dish, but it was fabulous. I had the lunch burrito tamale & rice & it was amazing! Our waitor was very pleasant, the chips & salsa served before our meal were delicious & our meal was served very promptly. We felt very covid safe as they spread out customers quite well. The prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be back soon & recommending this place to all our friends.
