I haven't lived in Bay City for a while now. My mom always talked about the frog legs and perch from the Oasis. My son and grandson recently moved back and we decided to treat them to one of Grandma's favorites. It was a Friday at dinner time (5:00 pm) and we expected it to be crowded. It didn't take long to find a table. Our server (she seemed to be well known, so was not new) had to ask the bartender if they had Blue Moon, Coke or Mountain Dew. We had 3 different versions of the Friday Night Menu for 4 people. When she took our food order, she informed me they were out of frog legs. My husband and son were told they were out of cole slaw. Our server then disappeared. Someone dropped a very small bread basket on our table with 4 small slices of bread and 8-10 pieces of butter. Almost 2 hours later, when we finally got our dinners, 2 of us also had fries rather than the baked potatoes that were ordered, apparently they were out of those also. It seems the regular customers were able to get whatever they wanted while we were kept waiting and were given substitutes. Maybe they don't want/need new customers. As I said, it was early in the dinner "rush" and they claimed to not have several items that we ordered. If they are consistently that busy on Fridays, wouldn't it make sense to be prepared with the items people most often order? Some of the fish was overcooked and we were never asked if we wanted drink refills. This was the worst restaurant experience I've had in a long time. Won't be...

Read moreWe were the only table in there. The food took ridiculously long to come out. The waitress never checked my granddaughter's drinks we had to flag her down and ask for a refill. Even though she wasn't busy with other tables. I ordered the pork chop with hash browns. The hash browns were the saddest little pile of mushy oil that I've ever seen in my life! The pork chop had absolutely no seasoning. My granddaughter's shrimp were fine if you like Gordon's Food Service products. She ordered mashed potatoes and gravy with her shrimp. The cook came and scooped the mashed potatoes off of the buffet. The salad bar was very small and had only lettuce tomatoes and cucumbers. They had a potato salad and a couple other things on there like coleslaw but it was not impressive. The Oasis is on our list of places not to...
