Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Bayamón

This is my first time visiting this Applebee's since they moved to this location.

RESTAURANT & FIRST IMPRESSIONS - When we arrived, the restaurant was actually somewhat empty. It felt more like they were closing than open for business. The host was focused on his cellphone when he acknowledged us it felt more like we interrupted his me time. There was no smile. He seemed almost annoyed. When he walked us to the table, the table was dirty as for most tables around us.

SERVICE, FOOD & DRINKS - The server actually was a better experience in the beginning. We ordered a Frozen Sangria and another Kiwi flawored one (really don't remember what it was). I strongly recommend the frozen sangria. It's so delicious and addictive, I drank 3 of those. The kiwi flavored one was okay but lacked the punch of rum that you tend to expect.

We decided to try the Chicken Wonton Tacos as our appetizer. It really wasn't my cup of tea. But it was tasteful. It lacked the main ingredient: chicken. It had more salad and sauce than chicken. It gets a little spicy at the end, so if you don't like spicy food, this is not the appetizer for you.

The server tended to have us wait almost 15 to 20 minutes for each interraction. We wanted to order our second round of drinks before the food arrived, but it never happened. The food arrived first, as the server was serving us the food, we asked for a second round of drinks. We've been served the drinks at least 20 minutes in tonus eating our food.

I ordered ordered the Fiesta Lime Chicken, and my friend ordered the Quesadilla Burger. My food I rated it an almost 2 star and heres why. The chicken was overcooked and dry, the rice dry and somewhat flavorless. The sauce under the chicken was overpowering the chicken. Overall, if the chicken were cooked right, less of the sauce and the rice a little more fresh, I would off enjoyed my plate.

On the other hand, my friend was impressed with his Quesadilla Burger. It tasted so juicy and delicious. The only thing off was the extra salted fries... way to salty.

The overall experience, I'll give it a weak 3. The restaurant personnel needs to focus more on customer service, cleanliness, and shorter wait times. The food overall is a mixed but weak 3, due to overcooking and salting the food.

In the end, we actually had a good time. I recommend you to have an open mind when visiting this establishment. You may have a better time. We will return to give it a new opportunity. Let's see what the future holds for...

Brought my wife from Taiwan. She is a chef.

She always wanted to go to Applebee’s. Were seated quick. ROSE was our waitress.

Ordered lemonade It was fake & tasted weird. I had a corona. It was good with the iced glass.

-Ordered sweet & spicy buffalo wings and hot buffalo wings. The sweet & spicy wings were incredible. The other wings never made it out. ROSE said I didn’t order them (she was not listening). I was starting to get upset.

Ordered oriental chicken salad. The chicken was hard and felt old. The salad was old. My blood pressure started to go up. I’m a veteran with PTSD. Blood pressure shoots up when I’m experiencing a bad time.

Ordered chicken shrimp rigatoni (for the wife). It was cold and dry. Wife was unhappy. Looked nothing the the picture in the menu. I was embarrassed.

Ordered Serloin steak It was warm. ROSE disappeared so flagged another down. Asked for A1 sauce. They brought me an empty bottle. Can’t find ROSE. Went hunting for any waitress for another bottle of A1 sauce. The A1 bottle empty as well. They got a third bottle of A1 sauce. It was very watery and spilt all over the plate. I think they filled it up with water. Took the first & last bite of the steak for it tasted like wet dog. Almost threw up.

Our waitress was still nowhere to be found.

I returned the steak. Didn’t want anything else because I was already nauseous. The manager apologized for the steak. Said we did not have to pay for it.

My blood pressure was very high and I did my best to keep calm. ROSE shows up and asks if we need anything else. I ordered my wife a smoothie. She liked it. I ask rose to bring me two take out boxes for the salad and pasta.

Another waitress returns with the smoothie.

Later, ROSE returns but not to attend us nor to deliver the to go boxes, but to take the order of the new customers next to us. We flag another waitress and ask her for the to go boxes loud enough for ROSE to hear us. ROSE notices and walks away without apologizing. ROSE NEVER RETURNS.

I hunt several people down to try to get the check. They all now seem to not want to help out. I tell the manager I don’t want to give ROSE a tip. That I want the other waitress to get it. But ROSE got the tip anyway.

Paid the check. Including the steak I was told I did not have to pay for.

The wife is now sick to her stomach.

NEVER EVER GOING TO THIS OR ANY OTHER APPLEBEE’S IN...

When we arrived the employee wasn’t at the front desk and we had to wait for a few minutes before he showed up. As we sat on the table, which wasn’t properly cleaned, we waited for a waiter. After a few minutes a waitress, that didn’t look like she wanted to be there, asked us if we wanted something to drink and anything else. Her attitude was not pleasant and after I finished my drink I was waiting for her to ask for a refill, but she didn’t show. After a couple of minutes the manager asked us if everything was okay and my wife asked for my refill. After waiting long minutes, and observing other guests that arrived after us being served before us, the waitress came with our orders but they didn’t look nice, Chicken quesadillas and chicken fajitas that didn’t look nice the way they were served on the plate. The way the waitress placed my dinner on the table left much to be desired. With something of an attitude. The way she addressed us left a lot to be desired. After a while she returned and asked us for anything else and my wife asked for the check. At this point I was mad for the unpleasant service we were getting that we didn’t even order any dessert. After asking for the check I just paid the total amount, not even leaving any tip to such an apparently incompetent waitress. I’m not sure if I would like to return to this Applebees again.
