Kiku Asian Cuisine — Restaurant in Bayonne

I'm just going to lay it all out there. Of course people from Bayonne are going to be judgemental and be quick to say a new place "sucks" if they're used to eating at dirty greasy spots for years.

With that said, this place obviously isn't going to be for everyone especially if there's some kinks to work out.

This is our second time eating here so far, and I think they're going to be our go to spot from now on. Here's why...

The first time we had them, the food tasted fresh and very clean. I believe I had chicken with broccoli and there was very little oil left over, if any at all. It was enjoyable but it also wasn't the best. Keep in mind, they're still new.

Tonight, perfect. I have no complaints at all with my meal. I had some dumplings that were shared. They're smaller than traditional, but let me tell you. These were some of the best dumplings I've ever had. Very very fresh and they are definitely homemade. I'm not going to complain one bit about them. They're perfect in my opinion.

My sesame chicken was spot on. Again, no 15 tablespoons worth of oil leftover in the contain. Very fresh tasting and no nasty after tastes. The white rice was very fresh and clean tasting as well.

Now let's get to the people behind the counter. Some of the nicest and sweetest I've ever met. They absolutely take pride in their business. The service is good, food is good, and most importantly... CLEAN!

That's my take so far and I hope this helps others out. They obviously read the reviews so I'm sure they'll correct any issues that you may experience. Just be as kind as they are because after all, maybe it's YOUR...

I don't get Bayonne. Every restaraunt here that has high ratings has NOT been very good, including Kiku. I don't understand all the high reviews for this place. I just ordered delivery. The food is so very tasteless, I had to HEAVILY season everything at home just to make it edible. The "House Special Fried Rice" was tasteless yellow rice with a small boiled shrimp, two pieces of chicken, and a piece of pork at the bottom. The "Egg Fried Rice" my wife got was worse. And everything else is extremely bland. Also, the delivery was pretty late and everything was cold.

I've been trying new places in the area. I can scratch this place off the list. What a shame. Save your hard...

This place sucks. I gave them the benefit of the doubt for the first two times that I ordered there, but now, I am finished with this place. I ordered BBQ ribs, and you think that they would be traditional spare ribs that you get from EVERY OTHER chinese place. Nope! I was amazed at what I saw when I emptied the bag. A rack of 6 ribs smothered in BBQ sauce like you would get at a BBQ restaurant. Looked nothing like any other chinese place. Then the fried rice was like drinking out of the ocean, that's how much salt was in it. These people really have to get their act together or they will be closed in 3-4 months. ...
