La Guardiola Gourmet Pizzeria & Bistro — Restaurant in Bayonne

I moved to Bayonne 12 years ago and I’ve walked past this restaurant so many times. So many other pizza restaurants come highly regarded so I never really gave La Guardiola a try. I do have a few “go to” spots in town for pizza and wings night. After recent disappointments with food quality, customer service, and bad delivery experiences, I was ready to try something new. We were really hungry so I searched for a close by restaurant with decent pizza and wings menu options and La Guardiola fit the bill. We ordered a Margherita Pizza with Plain Wings. The food arrived fast, fresh, and hot, so I was already happy. The pizza looked amazing and so did the wings. The wings were huge, crispy, and well seasoned. Hands down my new favorite wings in Bayonne. The pizza was good. The sauce was a bit on the sweet side where I like my sauce a bit more on the salty side but it was really tasty and the crust had a nice crisp to it. I am looking forward to trying other menu items in the future but La Guardiola is now my new “Go To” for pizza and wings...

We had delivery. The bruschetta was soggy. I was astonished to see lettuce which is basically WATER under it. Huh? The foil and plastic lidded container caused it to steam and the moisture of the lettuce made it WET. My son ordered Spaghetti Carbonara. The menu advertised it with eggs. The traditional recipe in our family. It was drowning in cream. The pizza appeared to be sliced BEFORE the toppings were added. Very odd looking. Disappointing. Maybe the dine in experience is better? First impressions are important to me. I wasn't even willing to taste the food. The look and texture of what they sent was not appealing to me. I see several good reviews. Maybe the quality is lost in the delivery process? The food went into the garbage. Almost $40 wasted. I thought of calling to ask them to do something about the situation. It was a late order but still no excuse for the quality. Now that I've seen that the staff is nasty I think I'll just chalk it up to a lesson...

Last time I ever order from this place. I live right around the corner from this place, they are never friendly when I come in but it's convenient so I order from here. But this time I ordered a sandwich and by the time I got home I saw the vinegr spilled all over the sandwich and the bread was very very soggy. I took the sandwich back to them and the woman I was talking to was very rude , and said that she put the sandwich in there and it wasn't spilled! Um seriously ? Did you think that the lid was probably not secured on correctly so any movement could have spilled it ? They did replace the sandwich but she threw the sandwich on the counter and walked away. I will say the guy at the counter apologized, but it's usually the mean women running the front area :( Future advice just apologize to the customer and replace the order. I don't think I have written many reviews but this place really...
