Bayonne Public Library — Attraction in Bayonne

I have been to many libraries in New Jersey and have never interacted with librarians as rude as the ones here. Most of them have nasty attitudes when I try to check out books or ask a question. One time I tried to check out a book and there was only one librarian behind the desk. She was eating and saw me waiting and I had to awkwardly stand while she was finishing her food (mind you it was 3pm way past lunch time). Another day I visited this library a librarian was playing TikToks at full volume behind her desk and I saw people trying to study have to get up and leave because there were no available seats in the quite rooms. Also the librarian named Karen I have seen her be incredibly rude to patrons that enter the library through the back door to use the elevator but what if someone has a hidden disability and can't use the stairs? I hope the library director does something about all of this and trains them to...

Update from a previously poor review in which the library from last year where the library was suffering a down heating system leaving the librarians and patrons more bundled up than the people outside and a period where they were closed on Saturdays.

They fixed all this which is great. The windows unfortunately still are unable to be closed from the inside and leak cold air in. While I would sit away from said windows the two tables with power strips in the quiet study area are places right next to them. While I do feel having power strips available at every table in a study area would be ideal I would settle for the closing of the windows for the winter. Extensive library with computers available for those with library cards as well as guests who do not own a library card. Books are separated within different rooms by category (Music/Art, Business/Science, reference, childrens, etc.) which makes books easy to find. If you can't find the book you need there are computers designated to the catalogue and the librarians are eager to help! Great place for academics, working class people and...
